Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seawolf Exceeded expectations! Great little mower!
My 92yr old mom had been calling her regular "lawn crew" for over a week before they called back and told her they had moved....By the time she called me her grass was over a foot tall and nearly two feet tall in some places.. I got online and purchased this mower for pickup at the HD near her house.. Got it to her place, uncrated and folded the handle into place , added oil (included) and gas, fired it up and mowed the jungle down.
OK - Up front: this is a bare bones 20 inch mower for a low low price - so you can't expect self propelled, bags, mulching etc....But for the small amount spent it's a little workhorse.
Sure, in the wet, two foot tall grass I did have to slow a few times, but I was amazed at the fact it didn't want to bog down where my larger more expensive mower would have.
Frankly I wasn't expecting a lot for $149.00....I just hoped it would work enough times to keep mom's yard manicured through the season - I was very pleasantly surprised - THIS LITTLE MOWER IS GREAT!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Alfredo Exactly what I needed
This mower's light weight was the attractive feature for me. I don't need to bag. I only mow my lawn so I don't need levers to raise and lower the mower. The height can be adjusted, it just requires tools. The factory shipped middle height looks good to me. Crankcase oil is included. The fuel tank holds enough gas to mow my 1/4 acre lawn then I just run it empty for storage. There is no throttle lever, it automatically regulates it's own speed. There is considerable vibration transmitted up the handle to grip (noticeable after 90 minutes) so I added a length of pipe insulation to the grip for padding next time. Don't seal it closed, so you can get the grip lever to the handle.

I am a women in my mid 30's. I purchased this lawn mower yesterday. When I got it home it took about 10 minutes to assemble the handle and get the gas and oil in it. 4 bolts, 2 washers and 4 wing nuts is all that is required which is provided in the box. The wheels are already on. After priming, it started on the 2nd try. What a great job it does too! I sprayed underneath the mower with cooking oil before adding gas and oil so that the grass would not clump up and get stuck inside the bottom of the mower. It works perfectly and exceeded my expectations for the price.

I am a single woman and I have gotten tired of majority of the lawncare men keep "forgetting" their prices and raising them every visit. So I decided to to just breakdown and buy one. This lawnmower was easy to put together, easy to push; not heavy and very effective. It's worth the cost. It's great!!

Purchased this lawn mower during a one day sale... Was excited because the price was great only 99.00; assembly was simple, put the oil and gas in and attempted to start. The mower would not crank. Primed and followed. All instructions Nada!!!! After wasting several hours, I Took it back to the store...and told the rep what happened And that i wanted to exchange It. She had the audacity to tell me that she would get someone to crank it for me...I insisted on a new one. Told her they could crank the new one because i had wasted enough time and wanted to make sure it worked. The Lawn mower started; i took it home. Hopefully this one continues to start.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryan1296 20" MTD Push Mower - Basic, Powerful & Reliable
I purchased this mower to be used to mow my medium sized front yard off and on between using my larger self propelled mower. Out of the box set up was very easy, all I had to do was raise the handle up and snap it in place and then tighten the bolts on the handle. After that I installed the side discharge chute which was also very simple, 2 wing nuts held it in place and it was assembled in less than 5 minutes. Before adding the oil or gas to the mower I adjusted the deck height which was a little complicated, it required removing all four wheels and re-attaching them to another hole in the deck but only took about 10 minutes to get all four of them done and 2 wrenches. I also tipped the mower on its side and undercoated it with non-stick cooking spray to keep grass from sticking to the bottom of the deck. After prepping the mower I added the 18 ounce bag of oil that came with the mower to the crankcase, and filled the gas tank with stabilized high quality 91 octane premium fuel. I pumped the primer 5 times being it was new just to get some extra gas in it and it started right up on the second pull. I mowed my entire yard without issue which took about 15 - 20 minutes, the mower wasn't hesitant at all cutting through some decently thick grass and had more than adequate power. It is a very light weight and easy to push mower, the deck is very solid for being as light as it is and pushes very easily through grass. The wheels are a little on the small side but not that big of an issue for me. After the first mowing I drained the oil from the crankcase to remove any metal shavings or what have you that the oil may have collected from the initial start up and break in, and I filled it with a good 30 weight conventional oil which I will run for about 6 months before switching to a synthetic most likely. For the price I payed for this little mower, I think it was worth every penny seeing as how it has surpassed my expectations of what a cheap basic push mower would be. I bought this mower for $139 with a $10 off coupon I got in my e-mail from Home Depot which was really nice. I would recommend this mower to anyone looking for a basic mower that doesn't want to spend a lot of money and wants something easy to start and use. Keep the gas fresh and change the oil and it should last a long time.
