Customer Questions & Answers

Can this tub surround be trimmed to fit a width of 59.5 inches instead of the 60 inches?

When reading the reviews one stated they trimmed the surround and another stated it couldn't be trimmed. We bought an older home with an off sized width.
Asked by: Belle12
No need to trim it the back overlaps. Mine was 58 inches and it fit fine.

Durawall 30 in. x 60 in. x 58 in. 3-piece Easy Up Adhesive Bath Tub Wall in White is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for an abnormal sized tub space My tub is 59.5" inches and with drywall it's about 58.5" which is impossible to fit a typical tub surround. No cutting necessary. The end pieces fit over the back wall piece perfectly. We sealed it with tub surround adhesive (it comes with adhesive and silicone) and it was a done deal. It's more durable than some of the other options Home Depot had and I was nervous about possibly having to trim it because it was so thick. However, like I said there wasn't any need to trim it at all. Excellent solution to a smaller space and Lowes had nothing like this in stock. Very satisfied.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed The adhesive included with the product did not adhere even after allowing the panels to dry for over 48 hours. The surface was prepared according to instructions and the panel was held against the wall with bracing while it was theoretically "drying" or curing. We ended up needing to purchase a different adhesive. This delayed our project's completion by many days. It definitely was not "easy up".

Not as flimsy as expected, about average book cover thickness. One thing description doesnt tell you, nor does on the box, the adhesive DOES come with it. Obviously more expensive ones are much better fitting, however for basement this wasnt so bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mustee durawall I found the product to be a nice solution. My existing tile was in bad shape. I stripped it all out, including the sheetrock . Everything under that was fine so I 're-rocked with GoBoard, and then followed the great instructions that came with the Mustee surround. I bought one extra tube of adhesive, and wished I had gotten two or three extra. The product came with three tubes. Also, the instructions suggested a method of bracing the panels with wood boards. Do yourself a favor and buy 6 or 8 1x4 boards for that bracing, it is necessary and effective. The overall result is simple but clean and very nice. The price compared to alternatives makes this product an excellent value. And it's a pretty cool DIY project.

The liquid nails that comes in the box doesn't seem to cure. We purchased another adhesive product (Gorilla, not Gorilla glue :-) ) and it cured fine.
