While I have only used it twice (for light duty tasks), it was easy to use and made the jobs much easier. I have only had this puller for a couple of weeks, but I have already thought of several uses in my yard and garage. I gave it only 4 stars solely because I have not had the opportunity to put it to use and see how well it works on heavier jobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described Probably not your typical cable puller use: My airplane (Cessna 172) sits in a hangar which has a short steep stretch of tarmac going down from it. Easy to tow the plane out manually, but difficult to roll back up the slight incline. When it's dry, I can still do it, but when it's wet, I get no traction. This little device solved the problem completely AND inexpensively. Works great to pull the airplane back into the hanger!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Every toolbox needs one of these Wish I had thought of this years ago. What a handy device. Takes a little getting used to/figuring out but used it to change the tire on my 600lb log splitter within minutes of opening. Being my first, have nothing to compare it to. The little flexible in/out lever bar ("flat spring") seems a little flimsy and the instructions aren't clear on disengaging the 2nd pawl ("pawl A") - you have to push hard on it directly to pull cable freely. Also, I debated between this one and the rope one where you could use a limitless length of rope (model A-20) because the review of that one said something about having to keep tension on the rope for it to grab, well that's the same with this one and, I imagine, all of them. So, if I had it to do over I'd probably get the rope one. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to pull anything much more than 22 ft because it is such slow going. You definitely don't want to pull out more cable than you need.
