This was perfect for us...we're using it as a "permanent portable". It's really not a move-it-into-place-every-time-you-do-a-load sort of washer. It's quite heavy. We parked it in place and extended the input and drain hoses...using a drain hose extender for a dishwasher to get the proper fit. Have only used the normal cycle so far, but am very happy with the level of clean and how quiet it is. Also, the packaging was terrific. Double boxed and very carefully packaged. For me, a full load is a set of full-size sheets with two pillow cases and perhaps a small towel. I have limited drying space...over the bathtub...so that's a good load for me.

I live in an apartment that does not have a washer and dryer connection and this works great. I just hook it up to my kitchen sink. I can fit about 5 pair of jeans into this washer with no problem but I wear a size 26 and my boyfriend wears a 32 in jeans. It washes wonderful! I also purchased the magic chef portable dryer it's a little smaller and can't fit as much in it, but it works great for us.

Couldn't be happier with this washer. 2.1 cu ft capacity makes it more like a conventional washer, and it works like a charm. Love it.

This washer is getting my clothes cleaner than my old one. You still need a dolly under it if you plan on moving it around. Also make sure you unpack the whole box as there is a noise dampener in the top that I didn't get because I didn't know it was there until I left the store, too late. Not too noisy anyway. Would recommend anyone with small needs or no regular hookups to purchase this machine. Also wouldn't recommend a queen spread as one person did as it would overload the machine.

First machine I purchased I had shipped to my home. Once I started unpacking it, I started finding broken parts and pieces. Contacted Home Depot and they were very helpful and told me to take it back to my local store. I was told by customer service that they could offer a 5% discount on the next one I ordered. That made me feel a bit more confident about making the purchase again.
I ordered another in hopes it would show up in better shape. During the ordering process, I couldn't order it through my local store and I was unable to use the 5% discount as there wasn't any where to claim the 5% discount. But I needed the machine to wash work clothes in so i ordered again. The machine arrived, no visible damage to the packaging, I was hopeful. Unpacked the machine to find it was intact but there were dents and dings in the machine. Not real happy about that but again, the machine was intact. Decided to try it and see if the machine worked. Machine works as it should and does a good job of washing. My suggestion would to be have it shipped to store (option i didn't have) and let them unpack it and check for damage.

When I purchased the washer, I paid a shipping fee of $55 assuming it would be delivered and set up, instead it was left on my front door step. After struggling to get the washer to my second floor laundry room, I "deboxed" the unit to find it was damaged and had loose parts. I called Magic Chef and they sent a repairman, who connected the loose parts and got the washer running.
The damage to the unit was numerous dents that appeared to be caused from the inside-out (I assume it was a production problem that was missed by quality control). I say this because the box it came in was not damaged.
Also I paid to have my old washer removed. I should have made the purchase through a local appliance dealer which would have eliminated these problems. All in all I have a washer that works (not very pretty but it works).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JB Owned For 2 years for us in Camper
I purchased this to use in a travel trailer camper that did not have a washer and dryer hook up. I was able to position it to hook up to the faucet and drain in the sink. It really saved me the hassle of going to the laundry mat when I am working out of town and staying in camper.
I was impressed with the quality when I un-boxed it. I was able to wash all my heavy work clothes with it on a daily basis. I could easily fit 2 pairs of jeans and two long sleeve denim shirts in it. Small blankets and sheet were no problem at all.
Later I upgraded to a 5th wheel with a washer hook up and just moved it in there. There was times when my whole family of wife and 4 kids stayed in the camper with me while waiting for a house. This washer managed to keep up with all that laundry fairly easily. I was pretty impressed. Of course I had a 110v dryer as well.
I recommend that if you use it with a sink drain that you make sure there is NO WAY for the drain hose to slip out and discharge on the floor. This never happened to me with this unit but I can see that it may happen if precautions are not taken to make sure the hose is very secure. I ran mine through the bottom of the dish strainer and over into the sink and tied it to the strainer. Also there is a filter inside the unit that can clog up and restrict the water flow. I have forgotten about it for months and when I cleaned it out I could tell how dirt and grime had actually been cleaned my work clothes. I was impressed with everything about this unit.
If you own an RV and want this unit for use inside you only have to figure on a place to put it near a sink. When you calculate how much this unit costs compared to the portble uprights or wash and dry RV units you will realize why I went this route. I have known people to spend 1000-1500 on an RV washer and have it break in a very short amount of time comparatively.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rich Brand new washer/doesn't work
plugged my brand new washer in and it doesn't work. It doesn't rinse or drain but sits there and hums. Nothing beats pulling out wet clothes and bailing water out of your $350 washer. Waited for 4 hrs for scheduled repair and repairman cancelled at last minute. I could have had this much fun with a used washer at half the price!!!
