I read the reviews and decided on this dryer to accompany my portable washer. I keep it on the counter top in the bathroom. It was easy to set up and gets my clothes dry. Just have to remember to clean out the lint after each drying session because it builds up. Also I keep the bathroom door open when dryer is in use because it gets pretty humid in my small bathroom.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mosie An amazing quiet compact dryer
Here is an additional point that I omitted from my previous review: you may wonder about the location of the controls. Note that this unit is set up to be wall mounted. Then the controls are in the right place. If the dryer is on the floor, the controls are very near the floor. Magic Chef has done a great job of constructing this system to be mounted on a wall. The dryer is very quiet as it operates on the wall-mount set up and is exceptionally sturdy. Everything is at eye level and makes for quick and easy use. I love this little dryer even though drying takes longer than with a standard energy-guzzling machine. Our photo shows the MC dryer and its matching MC compact washer set up in a tiny closet. If you have limited space these two machines are problem solvers.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by clyde27055 Great Compact Dryer
I purchased this to replace a full size Dryer (Gave Out). Since I have laundry just for two people I looked into a smaller less expensive model. The Magic Chief Dryer looked good for it's Features, Size and Cost.
I have been using it for about a month and it works fine. I can Dry a nice Load of Underwear, Socks, Wash Cloths, etc. that will last Two people around Two Weeks between Washes and do a Load of Bath Towels for a Little over a Week between Washes. The Dryers runs fine with no problems and is Quiet Sounding.
I am impressed by how this Dryer Dries Clothing and ease of Cleaning the Filters.
This is a Great Dryer for Two People or someone who needs a Nice Compact Dryer of Quality.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kd4hvz Unreliable - multiple failures in one year
This seemed like a great dryer that is small, runs on 115V, and has some neat features - until I owned it for a few months. Then the timer died after 6-months (covered under warranty but a few weeks of down-time). 6-months later the new timer died too. Now out of warranty a new timer is $32 if I put it in myself. Instead I bypassed the timer and then added an external timer to turn the power off to the unit. While dealing with the timer I discovered the fan belt was shot (barely over a year old) and had to special order a new one for $33. The exhaust port behind the drum was soo clogged it was restricting 95% of the air flow making the unit very inefficient and had to be disassembled and the grates cut out to get it clean and keep it from clogging up again. Overall it is a cute dryer but clearly poorly designed and built with unreliable parts considering I had four failures in one year (two timer failures, a belt failure, and clogged up exhaust port that required disassembly). I would never buy one again.

After getting the dryer unpacked, I plugged it in only to discover that it did turn on but the drum did not rotate.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bandtv Vent hose is an issue.
Dryer works better than expected for a portable unit. Dryer vent is an issue. We could not find a vent hose that would fit the supplied elbow. I installed a 3 to 4 inch adapter and used standard flex hose. This moved the unit much further from the wall. A compatible hose should be supplied with the dryer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EnginRob Works good so far, Nice dryer
We bought an 24" all-n-one LG washer/dryer 2 years ago. Washer is the best ever. Dryer was and is terrible. We had to iron everything pants, shirts, even tee's. First time run through with this dryer and we are set. I put rubber feet under it and set it on top of washer, then vented out and presto! the prefect w/d set. and only 24" wide. Just like others though, hoping it lasts. Not to loud and I only wish that you could put it on high heat w/o turning it to more than 120 min. For our loads, small. It needs a 45 min high heat and a 15 min low. As it is now we set it at 140 min at high and turn it off at 45-60 mins. We use a countdown timer. Can't leave clothes in or they will wrinkle. and it's not $600.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by UNSATISFIED Magic Chef Dryer: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I have no idea if this dryer would be good because when the company sent it to me it DID NOT WORK! They sent a service rep who was nice, but could not repair it, Yet Magic Chef was rude on the phone to me when I called them the second time about it.
