We purchased this after reading some other positive reviews however it was a BIG mistake! It's the noisiest machine in our kitchen but that's not the worst part. No where in descriptions does it mention that every 7-10 days you have to empty out both sided of the unit to empty two trays that fill up with water as there's no way to drain the unit of condensation!! It's been a few months of hassle and I'm fed up with the routine of emptying the water! I'm about ready to throw it out!! Big Big mistake which I regret!!
IMHO if you want a cooler then look for one which can be plumbed for drainage!!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Abbott0222 Decent wine fridge
Our main problem is unless you're only storing slim cab style bottles you cannot fit three to a shelf. Not a big deal to us as we won't store that many bottles, don't last that long in our house.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Adam Great cooler
This cooler has all the same features as a more expensive model. The description doesn't do it justice. Has
Fans to circulate
Lots of extra shelving so u can mix and match wine or cans
Could use heat strips inside door frame. But haven't had a issue with glass fogging while the door is close.
Fits in dishwasher 24" space. Under my counter.

I owned two of these over a three week period. Both were returned inside of 48 hours of operating time. I was attempting to keep red wines neer 60 degrees on one side with Sparklings/Whites/ and Micro Brews at 45 ish on the other. All appeared to be going well after initial coold down however after 24 hours the beer side internal temp was rising (I was monitoring with a separate digital therm). Even though the dispay that is is supposed to display the actual inside temp was locked at the set temp of 44 the actual was 58. The wine side temp was also rising but not as fast as the difference from the ambient temp of the room was much lower. Once the temp went past 60 I attempted to get the compressor to kick on by setting to the lowest temp setting. Nothing happened. I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in. The dispay now read the actual inside temp of 62 and the compressor came on.
The fridge came back to temp, appeared fine in the morning, but once again upon returning home from work temps had risen and nothing was happening. I returned this unit and took my chances of having gotten the bad apple and ordered another.
Fridge 2 - repeat above except with this unit the controller actually locked up on me and displayed some incomprehensible info when I tried to get the compressor to cycle by lowering the setting. It too went back to the store.
I had had these shipped to our local HD store and it certainly made the returns much easier. God Bless HD and their return policy. Except for the hassle of moving these units in and out of my house to return the process was painless.
These units are obviously of poor quality and I suspect that all the dual zone side by side models at this price point are. In looking at many reviews across many sites it seems that there are either some engineering design constraints or all manufactures are sourcing the same poor quality components.
Also, if you want to keep beer on one side (bottles or cans) your going to lose alot of capacity. The shelf spacing is designed for wine bottles, and really just your standard Bordeaux bottle. Pinot's, sparklings etc., are a snug fit even for whats designed for wine. So that said, if they would have made the shelf spacing like 1/4 inch more you'd actually be able to stand a can on end without losing a shelf. As it is you lose at least one shelf to stand a bottle or can of beer. I knew this going in and at the price point, had the unit worked it would have been great value. Not so much though since they didnt' and their longevity seems to be in question also.
Anyway, I've increased my price point and orderd a dual zone from another manufacturer. Its a top/bottom dual zone and overall those seem to review better than any of the side by sides i've come across

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Timothy I should have listened to the reviews - poor product
This product worked for a very short period of time before it started giving error messages, not cooling off, and displaying nonsense on the LED panel. It took 2 months for a warranty repair person to get to me only to tell me it's a bad cooler. Magic Chef has thus far honored the warranty and I will be asking for a full refund. You get what you pay for.
