I was skeptical because of the really inferior illumination that I saw in other brands of LED flashlights, but these live up to the Mag Light name with a great adjustable beam and the always flawless machining and construction. The battery life is definitely not what I expected though, given that LED's use much less energy than conventional bulbs, BUT there is the possibility that the ON button inadvertently got depressed in my truck because of where I put it, so the jury's still out on that one... Overall, it's a Mag Light which is to say that it's pretty much the best widely available flashlight you can buy for quality and longevity.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PJ just buy the 3D light
The 3D light is great, the 2AA is junk. Somebody from work also has the same problem, when you use the 2AA light it keeps flickering on & off. The 3D with the push button works great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OldmanMohave Great light Really brite!
The flashlight exceeded my expectations. I have two $80 high end flash lights that only last about an hour and are bright, but the Mag lite is brighter and throws a cleaner light than both of the 80 dollar flashlights put together. Living out in the desert in the middle of nowhere a great flashlight is a must at night it throws a beam over a 100 yards. Best part of it the batteries are less expensive and last much longer. Now it's rattlesnake season and I know my Mag lite wont go out when I am walking my property. To conclude I am happy Mag lite has made such a great product and are competitive with the more expensive brands of flashlights. BTW, I gave the AA mini mag to my daughter who loves it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pwcb2005 Great lights for a great price!
I bought these lights for my apprentice and I for working on plumbing systems. While neither light is hands free, they are rugged and will last forever with minimum maintenance.
I have grown to like LED (not the color) because of the battery life. These lights will last up to 79 hours full runtime! Also by buying the combo, you are actually getting one light free because sold separately, each is the same price as the total combo kit. I am thinking about gifting these at Christmas this year!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigRog Its a Maglite! Enough said!
As always, Mag Lite is quality. I've owned the old incandescent for probably 30 years - always a champ - durable, dependable - now the new LED has same quality housing different parabolic, but a very strong LED bulb - this means longer brighter illumination - now if someone could come up with a battery that doesn't lose shelf life!!!
Have already bought two more sets!

Can't believe that these 2 lights combined would be over 50$ if purchased separately! The 3D light has incredible range and lights up my backyard as well as my high powered spotlights do. The 2AA light is easy to run if you remember to wait a few seconds between twisting the head when choosing your lighting mode. It also has incredible light results for one its size. All-in-all a combo you can't beat for the price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noname LED Update To Classics, Made in USA Quality
My old D cell Maglite for the car was eaten by leaking batteries(I couldn't even get them out; they were fused to the aluminum). But actually I was looking for an LED AA mini to carry for efficiency(brighter, longer battery life). Not sure why anyone would buy either of these separately when you can get the combo for the same money. OK, 3 D cells is awkward, since they are sold in even numbers. So buy 6 and have a spare set, that is if you can even run them down. 79 hours??? Wow. This bad boy is heavy and bright. Great for the truck glove compartment, signaling orbiting space stations and self-defense against zombies. The mini has 2 power levels and two flashing modes, including SOS. The reviewer who complained about having to cycle through all the modes just needs to wait a second, as it defaults to simple on/off. Now if I can remember to check the batteries once a year for leakage I will be set!
