Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jentex Great door & upgrade to our entry
We got this door to upgrade the one that was original to the home. I was worried about the color, but the darker tones in the door blend very well with our chocolate brown furniture and it's a dark enough color to blend well with our red brick. The iron on the speakeasy looks great with our lantern style outdoor lights and lantern style foyer light. The quality is fantastic. The price was much lower than other options we found. We had to purchase a door jam extension to fit our 1990 home's door jam width. Overall, we are extremely happy with this purchase as well as the installation job through Home Depot.

Beautifully crafted door. Needed to buy a matching door jamb extender because of the depth of the opening, but I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Very heavy, very solid.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Marhaba This door is unique and well built. FSC certified means the wood was harvested sustainably (no clearcutting)
I love this door. I get tons of compliments and it is not the usual boring half moon windowed door or a boring leaded glass door that all the McMansions have around here. My kids love the speakeasy door and answer the door by opening it first.
The leverset and deadbolt I bought matches the door very well. It is a Weslock7140N-7571
I was looking for a FSC certified door which indicates the wood was harvested sustainably (no clearcutting of rainforest). I wanted to lessen my potential impact on endangered/threatened animals. There is a similar door sold at Home Depot that is made in the Far East and one does not know how the wood was harvested.
The door itself is made of solid wood, no veneers or softwood core. When you shut the door it gives a substantial thud.
The finish is nice, but I have to admit I saw some of these doors in stock at HD that had the clear finish peeling in places. The hinges, threshold, sweep and gaskets are all top quality.
I never installed a door before, but this one went in with minimal problems. I did it all myself. Of course I did a lot of research and watched videos. The included instructions helped a lot too. The only tip I would have is if you use expanding foam to seal the gaps between door and frame, be sure to mask off the door and not use too much foam. Even the minimally expanding type of foam will come out of cracks and get on the finish if you are not careful. The foam does scrape off, but does dissolve the clearcoat. I had to restain those areas with mahogany colored stain, which matched well.
The Main Door company has good customer service and answered many questions before I purchased this door. I subscribed to their Facebook page and learned that they are now making interior doors. I will purchase one to replace the closet door that is adjacent to my entry door. They should match well.

This door is SOLID wood, not hollow. And it is so beautiful....I can't stop looking at it. I had a contractor hang my door. He liked it so much, he said he was going home to order one for his house. If you are on the fence about getting the door, GET IT! You won't regret it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by moosemountain Very Pretty Door, but has some problems
I bought the door online and it seemed to be a really good price from all that I had seen. It arrived pretty much when they said it would, and we unpacked it to discover a crack in the mahogany frame. The crack made the front part of the frame, where the extensions need to be attached, not flush, so anticipate some fudging to be done there. Home Depot was very good about offering to replace it, but do I really want to wait another 3 weeks and drive 75 miles one way to the nearest Home Depot? So they gave me a good discount. Besides the crack which is a quality control issue I believe may have happened after it was packaged in the plastic, I wish they would have routered out the frame for the latch and deadbolt hardware. They did the door so why not the frame? And one more note; the door does not close tightly at the very bottom due to the weatherstripping on the very bottom of the door. Maybe this will improve as we use it, but right now, I can see a little daylight from the inside when the door is closed. I have never purchased a really expensive door, so I am wondering if these issues would be addressed in a more expensive door? At any rate, I am pretty happy with the value of the door even with the few deficiencies noted. It is a beautiful door, and I agree with other reviewers that the slash marks intended to make it look rustic are not necessary. I'd prefer it without them, but they don't bother me.

We purchased two doors, they looked great And gave our home a classy look but with in six months the doors started to have hair line cracks, we contacted main Door And even sent pictures. Since Then it has Been over eight months we are still given the run around.
The company contacted us And requested we release them from future liability if they send us two new doors, this Tell me they do not stand by their product. They never sent anyone to come assessment And or inspect the doors.
Bad customer service And relations.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by flyer Really Poor Warranty
Door looks good but seal isn't as good near the bottom as it is at the top. It says if you install a storm door it voids the warranty of the door. The door I took out had a storm door on it for 39 years without warping. The warranty is only good for 1 year from date of purchase. Sounds like they don't have much faith in their product. I would not recommend this product or the company that builds them to anyone.
