It doesn't look like I can use the jam it comes with so I'm wonder what the actual size of the door is?
If it is too tall and it's solid wood maybe it can be shortened easily. I saw some other reviews that complained about cracking and having warranty issues. If I cut this to fit do I void my warranty?

The door can be cut, it is solid wood. The warranty is void only if it is cut too much toward to wooded corner reinforcement pins or if its not resealed after it has been cut.

The size of the door is 36x80. Then it's encased in its own frame which makes it larger. I am 100% sure that it you modify the door in any way, that will void the warranty...that being said, it is solid and I haven't had any issues with mine.

You may be better off having a mason enlarge the door opening by raising the angle iron, which is not that big a deal. (My husband is a mason). I would not attempt to cut the door unless you are a professional finish carpenter. Read Less

You could add plexiglass to the speakeasy, but no reason to. It is weather stripped for the cold. It would have to be tight fitted in the square opening, not against the flange, as it would interfere with the closing. I'd say you could drill a peep hole through the middle of the door, as it seems solid, but why would you want to? The idea of the door is to open it and see who is out there. You may as Read More

Unfortunately, the speak-easy design is not equipped to allow plexiglass or glass to fit. Customers install a peephole in the speakeasy door quite often.

You will need new brick molding for the outside and trim molding for the inside if it is a new installation. If you are replacing an existing door, you might be able to save the existing moldings and reuse them.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love my new front door Door is beautiful and very sturdy. My dad installed it and it seemed to be fairly easy for someone with experience. Needed at least 2 people to maneuver it. Door is very heavy. July 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The most Beautiful Door EVER! I am so happy with my door. Just a few exceptions with the installation. The door did not close properly, so it needed to be trimmed a 1/4 in and the lack holes were not put in, which didn't make much sense because the door handle holes are pre-cut. Hopefully they will fix this. I had to pay my contractor more money to fix these problems, but Home Depot compensated me a little for this. After it was installed, I am the envy of the neighborhood. The one of the best purchases I have made because it is something I will enjoy everyday. I did look around for similar doors and this one was by far the least expensive. Thank you HOME Depot! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite what we asked for Love the speakeasy and style of the door. See below for other things that we did not like, most particularly the fact it was the wrong color!!! June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New front door This door is very solid, it helps keep all heat and sun out and am receiving a lot of compliments on it. Love this door!! June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Castle door Very heavy. Solid build. Love the door! It's for a Wine Tasting Room in Tacoma. Come see it! Reed's Sweet Wine June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The door is absolutely fabulous, better than I could have hoped for. The door arrived well packaged. It is a quality made product, was easily installed and opens and closes perfectly and without noise. July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite as pictured, but still very beautiful. Our handy man and his assistant had this door installed in about an hour. He said the high quality really made it a breeze to put in. The door is also very lovely. But I must say, the finish looks quite different in person vs the photo online. We were more-or-less aware of this at the time of purchase, thanks to other reviewer photos. It's very dark, and you don't get as much contrast around the edges and in the cracks. And, it definitely has more of a "that ogre just tried to hack at my door with an ax" feeling, instead of a "weathered and aged over time" feeling. And the ogre ax marks... well... they could look a little more organic. All in all, though, we're very happy with our purchase. The best part? Opening the little window when guests come over, and yelling "WHO GOES THERE?!!" September 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great door & upgrade to our entry We got this door to upgrade the one that was original to the home. I was worried about the color, but the darker tones in the door blend very well with our chocolate brown furniture and it's a dark enough color to blend well with our red brick. The iron on the speakeasy looks great with our lantern style outdoor lights and lantern style foyer light. The quality is fantastic. The price was much lower than other options we found. We had to purchase a door jam extension to fit our 1990 home's door jam width. Overall, we are extremely happy with this purchase as well as the installation job through Home Depot. July 24, 2015
