I live in a pretty humid climate, would this cause the door to buckle, warp or swell?

Thank you

All our solid wood entry doors are manufactured with floating panels that allow normal expansion and contraction. Prior to assemble the stiles, rails and panels in the factory, the backsides and edges of the panels are sealed to prevent trapping moisture in or between the panels. If a door swells and it is rubbing, it might need some adjustments, such as sand the area where the door is sticking, tighten any loose hinge screws and, to check if the door and frame has shifted or is misaligned and, worst case scenario, deepen the hinge mortises and plane the door. When the raw wood is exposed on the solid hardwood panels during normal movement and panel expansion or shrinkage and if it leaves an unstained line along the edge of the panel, the bare wood can be easily touched up and we ship a touch-up with all finished units. As for warpage, any mahogany wood door is susceptible to warpage if not installed within industry standards with a proper overhang and protected to direct sun and rain exposure. Warp shall not be considered a defect unless it exceeds ¼’’ in the plane of the door. Warp is any distortion in the door itself and does not refer to the relationship of the door to the frame or jamb in which it is hung. The term warp shall include bow, cup and twist. Read Less

Answer:
It is not genuine Mahogany but a very stable tropical hardwood in the same family. No one selling doors today under the term Mahogany is actually using genuine Mahogany as it is illegal.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PREPARE FOR WARP speed mr scott! While it is a very pretty door, don't expect it to last! After just three years it has warped to the point where cold air is now blowing in at the top. Their warranty is a joke! I would avoid dealing with this company. October 2, 2013
