what kind of compresor I should get to work with this makita 1-3/4 in.15 roofing coil nailer?

Asked by: sosa
I'm using Kobalt 3-Gallon Portable 150-PSI Electric Hot Dog Air Compressor. It works well and continueously. It is a good price and also can handle framing nailers. Air Delivery SCFM @ 90PSI (CFM) = 2.8 which fairly good for this compressor. Typically a good compressor to handle roofing and framing should be >2.5.

1-3/4 in. 15° Roofing Coil Nailer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, no jamming, solid feel. Picked this up for a garage addition, performed flawlessly. Not a single jam. Good comfort and balance, and seems lighter than my old porter cable roofing gun. Decent belt clip, though could be deeper I guess. Otherwise not much negative to say about it. I like the rubber bumpers on the sides of the head for non-slip on a steep roof. Overall great gun.

Light tool and it works as you expected. The jams (very little) were all due to the nails. Very easy to fix the jams. The nailer works great. GREAT VALUE!!! Don't look elsewhere. Makita has done a good job with this tool.

I just bought this Makita roofing nailer and on the first job it dropped from a second story roof and hit the brick sidewalk below. The only damage was a scuff on the housing...this is one tough nailer!!! The nailer sets a perfect depth and the shingle guide is handy. The built in tool hook is very handy as well. The sequential nailing works very well and it has thus far been jamb free. Excellent quality and the nailer has a tough and efficient design.
