Most home supply and building supply stores. Myself, I buy full 8.5 x 11 sheets and cut them down into 3 sheets. Much cheaper.

Answer:
You do not have to get 1/3 sheets of sand paper. You can get hole sheets and cut them into 1/3 sheets and punch the 1/3 sheets with the plate punch that you push against the bottom of the sandpaper when it is affixed to the bottom of the sander. This will punch holes in the sandpaper for dust collection. Plate punch comes with the sander .

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 46 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good sander for general use Sander has much less vibration to my hands as compared to a very old sander. Sand paper is easy to attach. Sander seems to be well made. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great sander Ok I'm a weekend warrior. After using cheaper sanders and them going out, I got this baby. Great little sander. Putting paper in is little different but once you get hang of it you'll like it better. I do anyway!! August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great finishing sander This is a great 1/3 sheet sander. When running it is quiet with minimum vibration. This is by far the best sander that I have owned/worked with. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mikita Sander for the Price.. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it was in my hand. This was important because sometimes I will sand for hours at a time. The next thing that I really liked was that the on and off switch was in the handle facing down which made it easy to turn off and on as well as control various speeds as I went along. Other sanders that I used made you push a button located in the front or side of the sander which wasn't so easy to do during certain tasks. Finally, the most impressive thing for me is how quiet it is when you are working and how much material it removes. In my opinion this is a fantastic sander well worth the price I paid for it.. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome 1/3 sheet sander for the price of a 1/4 sheet machine. Such an awesome sander. Smooth, quiet and best of all it does a great job sanding. Typical Makita quality so it should last a while. No more expensive than a decent 1/4 sheet sander. May 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice sander Fittings designed to connect filter bag to sander do not stay connected. This results in losing most of the sawdust from the bag. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great sander! This is my first 1/3 sheet sander but my 4th Makita sander overall. I have two 1/4 sheet sanders and a 5" orbital and I added this model for faster sanding of larger pieces without have to deal with the weight of a belt sander. And this model worked just as I had hoped it would. After using a 1/4 sheet Makita that I inherited in conjunction with another model from a different company, I was amazed at how quite the Makita ran compared to the other model, so I keep reaching for a Makita because I don't want to be disappointed. But it's not just the volume level. These Makitas work very well. I like the light weight, they're comfortable in my hand, and the new design of the levers for changing sheets of sandpaper make the task very quick and easy. The dust collection bag on this sander works surprisingly well. I don't care how hard the manufacturers try to make these dust collection systems work and they'll never be perfect, but this model picks up far more dust than it misses. I'm an intermediate do it yourselfer and these Makitas are perfect for my needs. They're priced right, run quite, work well, and the motors don't seem to run very hot with extended use. I don't think I'll ever purchase a different brand of sanders as I'm extremely satisfied with Makita. December 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Sander Excellent sander - light - easy to use... much better than the older one that finally burnt out. November 10, 2015
