Product Overview

The Makita HR5000 2 in. Rotary Hammer has a powerful 11 Amp motor that delivers 2,100 BPM for the most demanding applications. The torque limiting clutch prevents gear damage by automatically disengaging gears if the bit binds. The rotary hammer includes 2-mode operation for hammering only or hammering with rotation for multiple applications.

Customer Questions & Answers

do you have a Rotary Hammer that uses 3/4" spline drills? I need a replacement hammer.

Asked by: Anonymous
If you are going to use this drill professionally, I would pick the Makita Hr5000. It is spline drive and has good power and durability. Currently costing $800.00 plus, it is a good long lasting well built product. I'm not sure if it is 3/4 ", but it is spline drive. You can also get what is called a b taper adapter that accepts a wide variety of bits, which will reduce the cost of bits because you aren't paying to machine the spline every time you replace a bit. It also works well for light demolition, and various chisels are available for it.

Do you hav an auger 4" X 24"

I am drilling into hard rock, the hole must be 4inches wide and 16 inches deep
Asked by: fred
I'm not sure an auger will accomplish the task you have in mind. A rotary hammer equipped with a core bit is probably better suited for that task. A chisel attached to a hammer drill is another possibility.

Customer Reviews

11 Amp 2 in. Spline Shank Rotary Hammer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from long time user, great drill I've owned 3 of these drills. I'm looking to buy a fourth one. Over 22 years, I've worked drilling holes in concrete, cutting ventilator holes in home foundations, etc. I've used them until they were too hot to touch, and I've never had one break down on me. It is a little light for demolition, but works great for removing brick or concrete block. It works ok for cutting an opening in a concrete floor, if you aren't trying to remove major portions of it. You can drill 1/2 or 3/4 inch holes in concrete all day long with no problems. It gives you a lot of options on positioning of the side handle, which comes in handy in tight places. I am in pest control, so I'm in a lot of tight places. It rotates very slowly, but it hammers very fast. This worried me at first, but but it works great. I prefer this drill over any I've used. I would like it to be a little less costly, but it is well made,so I won't complain too much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from trully heavyduty in L shaped hammerdrill this hammerdrill performs better than expected. a bit heavy but this is expected in a drill with the bit capacityof drill. the drill has no anti-vibration features but wieght of drill negates this.customer service was very good from intial order to the time of delivery which was alot faster than expected. have owned and used different brands but they don't offer a comparable product.
