Rented this from home depot to dig up tile in my kitchen and foyer. It worked great!! The regular chisel bit worked WAY better than the large one I was told I needed for the thin set. I could've save the $25+ on skipping that attachment. I could've saved even more if I didn't take 24 hours and 10 minutes. They charge an hour if your late and it's almost the same as another day.

I broke up 5 inch thick slab for complete new drain/waste line. Product was light enough to use for a long time yet performed well. Rented for the day, didn't take the whole day but was easier to just rent for the whole day instead of being stressed about time. Would use again. Would buy if needed consistently.

This is an awesome machine! It works great and gets the job done! A little pricey in my opinion but worth every penny when you put it to work and does what it's supposed to!

I am a DIY home improvement guy. I just rented this item for the day with a floor scraper bit. I was able to remove the thinset from the concrete subfloor of a large bathroom in just a few hours. I like the variable speed function. At lower speeds I can control the tool with precision in areas where the material to remove is thin. At higher speeds it easily removes thick layers of material.

I am a professional contractor and found myself in need of a good demolition hammer. I have two other SDS Plus rotary hammers, both Bosch, but neither was truly designed for demolition. After a bit of research I decided on this Makita, as nothing Bosch had in this price range could compare to it.
Well, after a week of demo work, I find myself using this Makita over even the big Bosch Brute concrete breaker! The reason I decided on this demo hammer to begin with is because it's powerful enough to bash though concrete, yet nimble and light enough to use on horizontal surfaces and tight areas where the full size concrete breakers simply can't fit. The Bosch Brute breaker definitely has its ideal application, but you can purchase 3 of these Makitas for the price of one of the Brute hammers.
Coupled with an 18" bull point bit, this Makita is comfortable to use from even a standing position while working on ground level concrete. The Bosch Brute also only has one setting, too, and that's at 1000 BPM. This Makita has 5 adjustable settings, from 950 BPM up to 1950. In my direct comparison, the added 1000 BPM allows the Makita to actually outperform the Bosch! In addition, you can wield the Makita demo hammer 8+ hours with minimal fatigue in comparison to the 100 pound Bosch brute.
As a contractor, there are only a few brands I trust. Makita is definitely one of them. This demo hammer sets a new standard for excellence in this class and price range
