Does this saw allow me to change the angle the plate enters the cut zone so that I can cut and bevel plate at the same time? If not, is their a different model or different brand that would allow me to do this?
Asked by: Nate
No. It can only 'chop' straight down. A saw that can be set to cut at two angles to produce a 'bevel' cut, is known as a 'Compound Angle' saw. I doubt there is such a saw for cutting metal using the abrasive wheel method. There are plenty of brands designed to cut timber at a bevel.

Can I cut paver blocks at angles with this saw using a diamond blade?
Asked by: Kw
Thank you for your question. The 2414DB 14'' Cut-Off Saw, with AC/DC Switch is a metal cutting saw and not recommended for cutting pavers. Please see the Makita 4114X 14" Electric Angle Cutter, with 14" Diamond Blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great abrasive saw. I run a fab shop and this saw gets used on a daily basis. Often go through 1 or more abrasive wheels a week on it, for over 2 years and its still going strong. I love my makita and feel its far superior to the similar Dewalt counterpart which I have also used in the past. Highly recommended for a abrasive saw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't ask for more This saw is used mainly in a home welding/general use atmosphere and the ease of use in cutting both angle and square stock has been great. Setting up angles works great and provides perfect cuts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent SAW, everything the reviews say is good. The saw is very good. Well made,Makita usually makes a very good tool. Previous experience with Makita Products, led me to this saw, as compared to others. Spend a little extra money, this is what you get.
