Answer:
AC/DC switches are present in tools that are designed to be powered by generators or power generating welders. Note that you can also run an AC/DC switch-equipped tool in a conventional power outlet (note: Before connecting the tool to a power source (receptacle, outlet,
etc.) be sure the voltage supplied is the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool.

Answer:
Consistent with industry standards and market familiarity, Makita does not publish a horsepower measurement for electric cut-off saws. For electric cut-off saws (and for most Makita electric power tools) we measure and publish amperage.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent SAW, everything the reviews say is good. The saw is very good. Well made,Makita usually makes a very good tool. Previous experience with Makita Products, led me to this saw, as compared to others. Spend a little extra money, this is what you get. May 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great abrasive saw. I run a fab shop and this saw gets used on a daily basis. Often go through 1 or more abrasive wheels a week on it, for over 2 years and its still going strong. I love my makita and feel its far superior to the similar Dewalt counterpart which I have also used in the past. Highly recommended for a abrasive saw! November 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't ask for more This saw is used mainly in a home welding/general use atmosphere and the ease of use in cutting both angle and square stock has been great. Setting up angles works great and provides perfect cuts. October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good quality Had a milwakee chop saw for over 9 years and we do plenty of exhaust work April 17, 2013
