Answer:
LOL at HD associate response. Battery and charger are not included due to this being a "power" tool you plug in, not a cordless tool.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Only bad thing about this tool is that it don't come with not even one blade. But other then that it works as it should. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of the Best If you want the best this is it! This thing is an absolute beast. And with the avt the blade life is phenominal! Worth each and every penny. April 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Big disappointment I am a teacher that teaches a high school auto shop class. This saw is mostly used for cutting plastic and metal. It's light, and is powerful (1.8 horsepower). It's also reliable, EXCEPT that the shoe button easily falls out of the shoe release lever. This is what I consider to be a deal breaker. The pin holds the guard on the front of the saw. So, since you need the guard, you need to have the pin and the button. In their proper places. And working. The shoe release button is made of plastic. Plastic can be very robust, wear-resistant, and abrasion-resistant, but this one flexes easily, or breaks easily, and out drops the shoe. Where did the pin go? If you work outside, and do pruning or related work, or as I do, in dirty environments with (say) motor oil and grease everywhere, you will have LOTS of trouble finding the button and pin. Good luck ordering replacements. Most part stores are out of stock. Guess why? Probably because lots of people are having this problem. October 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as it gets. I own this saw and the Milwaukee 15 amp super Sawzall. Both of them are absolute beasts. Comparing the 2, the Makita has less vibration and has a larger, metal case. Milwaukee cuts slightly faster in orbital mode, but vibrates more. October 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by THE SAME AS CHEAPER MODELS I PURCHASED THIS SAW AS I NEED THE BEST EQUIPMENT FOR MY WORK. I USE A REPRIPROCATING SAW ALL DAY LONG. THIS SAW LASTED 6 MONTHS. I GET THE SAME LIFE OUT OF A CHEAPEST 15 AMP SAW. THE SHAFT BROKE AND THE COST OF REPAIRS WAS THE SAME AS A NEW SAW. March 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Orders new got a used saw I Ordered A new saw got a used one. The owners manual in the box had been used. And the saw had been repacked in to a tool box that came with a bandage that have been wrapped around somebody's finger that had blood on it. Evidently someone may have had used saw and cut the finger and repack saw in the box with a their bandage. So I have no idea what should have been in the saw's tool box. I would really like to have a new saw in an unopened factory box. Please advise. The saw is excellent, it should be in each store! April 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very powerful and feature-packed tool This is one very powerful tool. It will destroy anything! Overall, this is an excellent saw. The variable speed is a very useful feature as it allows to use the saw in less demanding applications. Otherwise, any user would find it to be too powerful. The saw feels a bit heavy at the beginning but once you start using it, it does not feel as much. I did not feel any vibration so the AVT feature must really work. The blade changing is bit difficult as you have to apply a good degree of force to remove/replace the blade. Metal case is sturdy and professional looking. But a plastic case would have probably been a better choice as the metal one could get banged and dented. It's not a cheap saw but you do get what you pay for. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. March 12, 2013
