looking for something light weight, easy to carry, easy to use but powerful enough to do any job around the house or cabin. needed to have something that held a charge and that would re-charge quickly. this tool does both!
I have owned Rigid and DeWatt but got this 18v Mikatia and discovered what real freedom means. this out performs the other two hands down. fences- does it, decks does it, cabinets does it, with power to spare. now when I have a project, I have the perfect tool.

In 16 years of heating and cooling, I have been through alot of drills. DeWalt, Bosh, Ryobi and then my Makita. Cost a bit more but for the performance and handy add ons like the lights and belt clip, I will never buy another drill. Make sure you get this drill tho. BHP454. My co-worker thought he was buying the same drill and got the BHP452. Big difference. the 452 is cheaper and it shows in the durability. Would not recommend that one.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LarryI Professional tool, worth every penny!
I am a first time homeowner, and I wanted to make certain that I bought a quality drill. I bought this item purely on reputation, reviews and research. This is something that I have used a few days a week every week on various projects like installing shelves and building a computer desk. It is even delicate enough to hang pictures and hang toilet roll hangers.
The drill has all the standard features of any professional drill. It has a two speed gearbox, 16 increments for drilling depth and a great keyless chuck. The nice extras are the led light and high capacity, powerful 18 volt batteries.
So far I have used this drill on all of the following projects: installed new hardware on gates for the fence, built an L-shaped computer desk, built a new ramp for my storage shed, installed new shelves in four rooms and three closets, hung a couple dozen pictures on walls, hung curtains in four rooms, installed lattice work on deck and shed, installed new locks on all doors and gates, installed a new mailbox, and installed new shelves in the shed.
The batteries are powerful and long-lasting. The charger is quiet and quick. The case is clean-looking, well-organized and seems durable. The motor/gearbox is so strong that it twists the drill in your hand when you pull the trigger. There is even a clip built in to the battery so you can hang it on your tool belt.
The grip is a nice size, and wont strain your hand after hours of use. It's hefty, but it's not going to break on you. Heck I even like the color choices! I see myself having this drill for many years to come.
I am a firm believer of buying a good tool rather than buying a piece of junk several times. You do get what you pay for these days, and I imagine it wasn't any different before my time and it wont be after I am long gone. Save up for it if you have to. It is 100% worth every penny!

I am a sissy girl that couldn't afford to hire someone to hang hurricane shutters. I bought this tool to help me do the job, and WOW did it help. I love this tool, a little pricey, but it saved me money in the long run, so easy even a sissy girl can do it. It makes me want to attack other projects. If you got the money up front, this tool will save you in the long run and build your confidence, you will not have to fight the tool you can concentrate on what you are doing. If you are scared to tackle a project get this to help you build your confidence and do a good job too!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Flash01 Hammer Drill
I purchased one of these 2 years ago and still use this drill nearly everyday. I would give it 7 stars if i could. Without fail it does the job and is absolutely dependable. Masonry, metal, driving screws.....you name it this drill handles everything. Just today I dropped it off an 8' ladder on to a concrete floor and it kept right on going (its not the first time either). Where this drill really shines is the hammer function. I have simply not found any other top dollar hand held drill that goes through masonry as quick as this one does. The ergonomics are very comfortable and the battery life is astounding. To put it simply; this tool works like a corded drill does...without the cord. If you make money with your tools like I do, don't look anywhere else.
