I would recommend considering m12 hakzall by Milwaukee if one hand holding is your preference. I have both the makita and Milwaukee m12. I was very disappointed in this product but the Milwaukee is fabulous

It will work for a few pipes before it starts falling apart on you... They used tiny screws to hold the blade-holder assembly and start coming loose after only a little use.. JUNK!!

Answer:
If you have plenty of room, use a biger saw. If clearance is tight, this will do the job. As always, make sure you have a good quality blade. About the only "negative" I give the saw is it has a shorter stroke, so you'll be working the same spot on the blade over and over. Stick to a good Freud blad \e and you'll be fine.

As far as what style blade, just depends on what you're cutting. Live branches will need a really low tooth count with big gaps for ripping out material. lumber will require an intermediate tooth count, still aggressive, but closer together. Metal requires a high tooth count, and a specific design for the type of matal you're cutting. I reccomend Freud blades. ABout the same $$ as some other brands, but much better. Read Less

I can't say for sure it will fit since many times they have a block on the slide so the batteries don't interchange but I'm sure that it would last very long since it's only a 1.5 amp hour battery.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great tool I read the reviews and din not buy until I had a tight space I could not get the full size saw into. Many complaints were low power and vibration, neither of which ate valid.I found that this tool is solid with mega power. the vibration is due to the power, it is important to make sure the saw is held securely against the material and the vibration will vanish. I particularly like the two triggers which allow cutting in almost any spot or angle. this is a small tool fir small jobs, i still use the full size corded saw for my demo work so this is not this you want for big stuff but for tight areas, cutting pvc etc. you can't beat this little powerhouse. I demoed 11/2"-4" pvc, notched decking and cut drywall without any problems. if you know what you ate doing you will love this saw. August 18, 2016
