If using a generator I would suggest using one with a pure sine wave output. These are generally a little more expensive, but will not damage sensitive electronics.

I would think so! I am running this on an old fuse (15 amp) box and it hasn't blown a fuse yet! I was surprised, but that's one of the reasons I bought this one! Low starting amp draw!

Answer:
All signs point to yes, this compressor is rated somewhere around 12.5amps I believe, under the 15 amp mark, one of the nice things for those who suffer from 15 amp circuits and always throw breakers on start-ups from other similarly sized compressors. It doesn't even dim the lights in my garage, and I run on a 20amp circuit.

Makita does not recommend using generators with our compressors. However, if you must use a generator, a 20 AMP high quality generator should be able to power the MAC700.

Answer:
Yes, it is wall mountable, but you need to consider the following things:
- It is very heavy at 52 lbs, so shelf hardware needs to be very strong to support it.
- Mounting it on a shelf makes the regulator difficult or impossible to see in its default position.
- You need to build a fence on the shelf so that the compressor does not vibrate off the shelf.

I suspect it would be with a bit adapting. The base has metal strap legs with rubber cushions underneath. I bet one could bolt the unit to a shelf through the legs and secure it at the wall this way. if you look at pictures of the unit I think you could determine the feasibility of this for yourself.

Answer:
You could custom mount this to a wall, but there is no included provision for mounting. You could probably install a sturdy shelf and then bungee cord the unit on the shelf so it does not vibrate off. I would not put it any higher than waist height or so for safety.

It does not take a rubber hose. The compressor has an automatic style air coupler, which accepts 1/4" industrial interchange plugs (and maybe some others, I did not try it).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fulfills Expectations This is a very well-built, well-designed compressor with excellent performance as long as your expectations are realistic. You need to be sure your particular needs are matched to the specs of this compressor. It is no lightweigt, but it should last for a very long time. Randell October 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makita 2.6 Gal. 2 HP Portable Electrical Hot Dog Air Compressor I've owned several air compressors over the years and the Makita 2.6 Gal compressor is by far my favorite. Runs smoothly and quietly, fills up fast and maintains excellent pressure. Love it, buy it. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Compressor Very well built. Strong and quiet. I bought it to keep in my fifth wheel. I had it running at a RV park and a few people said they couldn't believe how quiet it was. Pumps my truck and trailer tires to 80lbs with no problem. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Built tough, and quiet Right size for home and light construction jobs. Impressive whisper quiet. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MAC 700 Compressor Review I purchased this ship to store, delivered on time to Home Depot. I got it on sale for $175. This is a solidly built unit, weighing around 50 pounds. Another reviewer had posted excellent set up and break-in instructions which are better than the ones included. There are several helpful online videos as well. Remove temporary white oil filler cap. Fill the oil only to the red dot on the clear oil level indicator. Install black filler cap. Do not over tighten and do not use thread tape. Install the silver air filter, using thread tape. Open the air valve at the bottom of the tank all the way, run for 20 minutes and you are done! I changed out the oil as it was a bit dirty afterwards. The unit comes up to pressure quickly via the big bore 2 HP motor, and is much quieter than non-oiled compressors. It takes about a minute to get to 130 PSI. I use it mostly for filling the tires on my boat trailer, as an air blower and it works great. I always empty the tank when done. It has a 2.6 gallon tank, so it’s not really suited for high volume air tools, but it is perfect for someone that needs a quality unit that does not take up much space. It fits on the bottom shelf under my work bench. A 50 foot air hose reaches everything. Over all, this is a great unit. My only minor issue was when I went to go pick it up, the clerk brought it out with the box upside down. This caused some left over oil from factory testing to leak past the temporary oil filler plug and it got under the motor cover. Otherwise the unit came in perfect condition. February 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little compressor Opened shipping box at store, absolutely no damage of any kind. Brought home and followed start up/break in directions and several days later put it to work with a brad nailer. Works fine, reasonably quiet and plenty of psi! Would be nice if t was 20lbs lighter. Option to add wheels would be nice. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent quality air compressor The Makita MAC700 air compressor that I ordered from Home Depot is of superior quality. It is manufactured in Taiwan which has similar quality values relative to the United States and Japan. If you are looking for a small portable air compressor of exceptional value and craftsmanship, with an oil sump for extended life and quality components not manufactured in China, then please purchase the Makita MAC700. This air compressor works great for small shop jobs and know it will have years of good service. If you are looking for something more commercial, then I would upgrade to the next size Makita air compressor, which Home Depot stocks in their stores - again, very good quality. May 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Switch issues Owned this compressor for about 6 months and have only a few hours use on it. Now, it doesn't turn on and looking at online blogs see that this appears to be an ongoing problem with this model. Under warranty but still a pain to have to take it to the repair center. Luckily I have other compressors to use. I was thinking of replacing one of my older twin tank compressors with a twin tank Makita but now I'm more than a little hesitant. July 4, 2016
