Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sarkazein70 Perfect tool for many uses
I've used this tool for the past week or so to remove laminate flooring and baseboards, as well as remove grout and thinset. It works like a charm.
The manual floor scrapers for laminate (or other glued down) flooring work but will start hurting your hand after 30 or so minutes, and they take quite a long time. With the Dremel rigid scraper (this tool is compatible with any OIS accessory and includes adapters, so Bosch and Fein are good too), I took out about 80 square feet of laminate, adhesive and all, in about an hour or so.
For baseboards, the included plunge cutter accessory means no more accidental holes when removing baseboards and trimming. You literally go flush with the wall and flush with the floor, and then the piece is ready to remove with a little prying (not close to the force needed with manual tools). On top of that, it's the whole piece, so it can be reused if you want.
For grout removal, I used the Bosch 1/8" grout removal tool on 1/4" grout. It's a little maneuvering, but far better than the manual equivalent. It's a bit dusty, but nothing a paper mask won't handle. The same goes for the rasp tool (Dremel) to remove thinset under the tiles. Once the grout is gone, a hammer and a chisel designed to be hit by a hammer make quick work of tile removal. The tool quickly smooths out bumps and otherwise left over adhesives.
I bought the electric version because the battery version of the same thing costs twice as much and lasts 15-20 minutes between charges. When replacing a few hundred square feet of tile (bathroom and front entry way), that's just lost time. I'll deal with a cord instead of a recharge.

If you are looking for this type of tool, this is the best. Its a specific tool for a few purposes. I dont feel its sanding ability is that good. (Use a profile sander) However as a cutting tool this thing is great. Its a must for installing hardwood floors so you can undercut door casing (so flooring can fit underneath). Its also great for plunge cutting in wood or drywall. With a little skill, plunge cuts can be made into installed trim pieces or other wood that needs to be straight. (You can avoid pulling the piece off to use a chop saw)
A really great tool if you need it and know what you are doing. The cordless version is a waste, in my opinion, as the tool will outlast the batteries by decades.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Brian I bought this item Jan 18th and today is Feb 28th and the unit is unusable.
Unit lasted just a month. Worked fine just two days ago and today when I picked it up and tried to cut some drywall the unit made a loud clanking sound and the blade stopped moving. Appears that the gears a stripped or not aligned any longer. It's a shame because I had a lot of choice while shopping and picked the brand because I thought that I was getting a professional grade item that would last. I will be returning.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rabid Love this Tool!!
I bought this tool when I started a bathroom remodel and am so glad I did. Works great on drywall and removing grout. It saved me hours in cutting/shaping drywall alone. I paid a little more for the Makita over other brands, but I'm not disappointed. The only thing I wish it had was a vacuum attachment. Cutting drywall is extremely dusty with this tool.

I was pretty tickled to get this thing. So far so good. It is one of those things where the more you use it the better you will get. I didn't really know what to expect. I guess if I had any complaints so far is that the blade hold down bolt really has to be cranked on to keep it from vibrating loose. Like I said I should get better with practice.

Worked great until the motor stopped running reliably and the gearing that drives the vibrating head gave out. Was used in handy homeowner type work (average 3 times/month) for just over the warranty period of one year before dying. I'm going to Harbor Freight and buying one that is much cheaper and will probably last just as long. Big disappointment.
