The other positive reviews are correct. It is an amazingly smooth and steady saw. You'll enjoy it.

has every feature you'll need. Variable speed, adjustable base(foot) for cutting angles.. which i never use bc all angles are on my miter saw, orbital feature with 4 settings-straight, 1 lvl orb through 3 lvl orb which just speeds up a cut such as finishing cuts on decking where you put the rail posts that the circa saw can't reach well. there is really no reason to spend more money on the more expensive ones if you don't own a woodshop or plan to do extremely intense fine wood work. 20 yrs exp carpenter

This little beauty is not very fancy, in fact it has no bells & whistles at all but it just cuts beautifully. The saw is dead smooth and following a pencil line is a breeze because a blower clears the line so you can see it and the saw remains rock steady.
I have a 5" Makita angle grinder that I bought 35 years ago. I don't use it every day but three or four times a year when I do need it, it's always there. I expect the same for my new jigsaw.
I could have bought a more powerful & expensive Makita or Bosch, but this saw is really light and so easy to handle.

Most important first. This saw will accept the thickest jigsaw blades. Makita and Festool make blades in excess of 4" long but they're thicker than most. But if you have a saw that will accept one of those blades you can cut a 4x4 post accurately. This saw is $99. A Festool is $$$. Wish I had known this stuff when building my back yard fence. Would have been much preferable to using a cordless reciprocating with no foot.
I have a much more expensive, highly rated, made in Switzerland, jigsaw that does not work nearly as well as this saw. In fact, it's about to find another home. For two reasons. The toolless push in, rotary pop-out blade holders are almost guaranteed to hold a thin jigsaw blade at an angle instead of aligned with the saw. The slot is wider than the blade and the fancy rotary retainer doesn't change that when it locks in place, so the blade will be aligned properly only if you use the thickest possible blade that will fit. This Makita will hold any blade properly.
Also, saws that have the bevel lock lever almost always move a few degrees away from the desired setting as a result of lever engagement. Unless, of course, you have three hands; one to hold the saw, one to hold the foot and one to close the lever.
Buy this saw. Don't whine about the Allen key. Cut straight and be happy! Discovering this saw made my month.

I have had one of these jig saws for over 12 years. I finally burnt it out when cutting through welds on some steel stair railings. Prior to that it has been used to completely remodel several houses, build multiple decks and about everything else you can think of. If you are a day in, day out user it's probably not the saw for you, but if you only need a good jig saw several times a year you won't go wrong with this one.

I've used the tool once. It cut smooth and felt really solid in the hand. It's nice to have a quality tool. It does not have as many extras as other saws you may buy, but the thought and engineering that have gone into the design are obvious.

This is the first time I have ever used a Jigsaw and I must say I feel like a pro already. It is easy to handle not to heavy and I feel so comfortable using it. I am going to try some of the other products they make.
