Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by carpenterguy It's a fine smooth running tool.
I own and use grinders. I do stone work with diamond blades. Cutting stone with a turbo wheel requires a tool that is well balanced and smooth running. This is my favorite grinder, I own Hitachi, Bosch, Milwaukee, Rigid, Flex, and just bought two DeWalt's. They will be going on trial within the next few weeks so I'll let you know how they turn out.
I've been in the construction field over 40 years and using grinders heavily for the past twenty. A grinder that is not balanced will wear you out long before the job is done. When i pick up one of these tools i will work nonstop for 2 hrs, take a break and then go on to put in an 8 to 10 hour day. The tool doesn't get much of a break and shouldn't break.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darell Fantastic, cuts through anything
Years ago I worked at a 4wd shop, so I all my friends started bringing me their rigs. I quickly realized how much I needed some quality metal working supplies. This grinder will cut through anything. In the last month, I've cut 4 separate chrome bumpers, into high clearance bumpers. 3/8 steel for winch mounting plates. Taken rusty bolts off doors to pull them off for the summer.
The grinder handled everything perfectly, and with ease. Now when my friends ask for a custom fabrication, I know it will be easily completed. I cannot recommend this product enough. It makes metal working fun.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chaos23 the little grinder that CAN!
Makita, okay, but made in china... I hesitantly pluncked down my $40 froggys, but i must say this little grinder surprised me! It has an adapter to allow use of 4" or 4 1/2" cut-off and grinding wheels. I just used it for demolition of a relatively small bathroom tile floor using a 4 1/2" diamond cut-off wheel, & it never stuttered! I ran it hard all day, half expecting it to give out, but no matter what i threw at it, it kept going. This was the first time i had to really rely on it, & it came through like a champ! It even fit in a few places that a 4 1/2" grinder wouldn't have made it. I've owned this tool for a little over six months, but before now have used it fairly lightly, cutting bolts, rebar, etc. as well as light metal grinding. This grinder has an M10x1.25 arbor, so you'll need to pick up an M10x1.25 to 5/8"-11 adapter if you want to use it with most cup wheels. I definitely consider this tool to be an excellent buy, & would recommend it to a friend.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYer First Angle Grinder I have purchased
Used this tool just once so far, but it worked like a charm out of the box. I am a DIYer, and its ergonomic design makes it easy to to hold and cut with. I intend to use it far more over the holidays for maintenenace and repair tasks. So far, so good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GerryR Great value, strongly made
We discovered that our new sink did not fit into the opening in our granite counter. The plumber did not cut out granite so we were stuck finding a professional for a tiny job (Ha! Ha!) or doing it ourselves. We took ourselves to the HD and bought this Makita grinder and a diamond blade. For the price (about $50) this tool seemed very well made and powerful. It did the job in 15 minutes. A great buy and lot cheaper than any professional.

We purchased this to cut paver blocks for a new entrance patio. It did the job and was easy enough for even me to handle. I'm not a very large person. The blades we bought with it did the whole patio. We had to cut in for a circular pattern. We are also finding other handy uses for this tool. Would recommend it as a handy addition to any tool box.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dpaulovich great grinder for occasional use
Bought grinder for porcelain tile. Worked fine but the tile was so brittle it would crack before finished. Not the fault of the grinder. Good quality, great price. Am sure I'll find many uses in the future.
