Ordered Air Compressor on the 25th of September, Arrived on the 2nd of October in great condition, unboxed and added the supplied oil, opened the tank drain valve and plugged it in for 30 minutes. Upon closing the drain valve the compressor built up to the kick-off pressure of 140psi on less then one minute. Awesome Compressor, Highest CFM rated compressor @ 90 psi for its size and weight. I bought this unit to supply air for my Miller 625 Spectrum Extreme Plasma torch when working in doors at remote locations ie.(inside the Malls) the compressor seems evenly balanced for picking up to load on a tail gate or deck.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JohnBoy MAC5200 Great Purchase!
Have a MAC700 for about 10 years that has been an excellent compressor with no problems and is still going strong. I had been thinking about getting a higher capacity compressor and was really interested in the Makita MAC5200 because of my other Makita, the high CFM, 120 volt rating, and it runs on a 15 amp breaker, and has wheels for portability.
I am very happy with my purchase. After 3 years of thinking about it and looking at it online I was walking through my local Home Depot and there it was, right in front of me. They had never stocked it before. I bought it that weekend! It is well made, runs great, has a lot of capacity and power. It doesn't come on as often, it can handle more demanding tools, I would not hesitate to use this commercially on a construction site with several nailers. I think the tank capacity would keep it from cycling too much.
It doesn't take up much room, has wheels and a folding handle if needed to move. Great for airing up tires on the family cars and running my framing, finish, brad and pin nailers and paint sprayers. It is louder than my MAC700 which is known for being a very quiet compressor but it is twice as powerful.
I will definitely stay with the Makita brand compressors. If this one last 10+ years also, I can't go wrong. The purchase price divided by 10 years, I spend more on milk than that! I am going to sell my MAC700 and it is so good, I hate to get rid of it. It is in perfect shape and has no problems at all. Makita brand rules! The only thing it doesn't do is clean my shop!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PapaG This thing is a beast!
After my 25 year old Craftsman bit the dust, I did my homework and researched to find a compressor to feel my needs. My old unit was so outdated that they didn't even stock parts for it anymore. I'm a homeowner who was about to put a roof on a 16' x 16' workshop I was building. The last thing I needed was to have to be shingling with a hammer in 100 degree heat. I bought this compressor and with a roofing nail gun that was borrowed from a dear friend, and the help of my gifted son, we got the job done. The Makita never hardly broke a sweat, but we sure did! We were only using one nail gun, but we would notice that it would only come on to rebuild pressure about every 20 to 30 minutes. I love it. It's very quiet and the hooks on the handle make storing the 100 ft air hose a breeze. I haven't really put this thing to the test yet with an impact or a cutting wheel, but for what I need, this thing has passed the test. I went to the Home Depot closest to my house, and they didn't have any, but located a store about 20 minutes away that had 6. They said it was the only store in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex that had any. That made me hesitant to buy it, but I'm glad I did. I've had great luck with Makita products. I followed the break in instructions, filled it up with the oil provided, ran it for 30 minutes with the valve open, then drained the oil and filled it back up with new oil. The pressure valve is right in the front which is real convenient, and the tires are solid rubber so they'll never go flat. There's a handy storage compartment on top that is big enough for the owners manual and a few attachments. The dolly type handle folds down easily for storing it and makes it easy to move around. It might be a little heavy for one guy to throw into a pickup, but with a strong back, it can be done. I would highly recommend this for any do it yourselfer!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DeeTee Excellent Value in a Compact Compressor
I bought this primarily to operate a plasma cutter that needed about 5cfm at 60 psi. It is working very nicely. The cutter always has plenty of air helping to make my cuts efficient and quick. It has a roomy storage compartment for all those necessary compressor parts such as quick connects, an easily accessible drain valve, and lots of hose storage. I like that it's oil lubricated and although it's kind of loud it has a deep, throaty sound rather than the high pitched whine you get with oil-free units -- it's just easier on my ears and not so aggravating. The tires are substantial and I like that you can pick it up at the front or back to roll it around. I did a lot of shopping but couldn't find another compressor that delivered almost the same amount of cfm at 90psi as at 40psi and that had a compact tank. So far, I'm very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by nttconstruction Good buy for the money
This is a great compressor for nailers and mid to low CFM sprayers. It is definately built for the construction site. It charges to 140PSI very quickly. As far as other comments about noise...its not bad at all. I do agree that the wheels are not as solid as I would like to see but I have had no problems. It was delivered quick and the box arrived will no damage. Overall, I am completely satisfied. This is the best compact compressor I have ever owned. I used the dewalt comparable (D55146 4.5 Gal) but there is honestly no comparison. Dewalt is oil free. They say its for convenience but its honestly for cost.Trust me, they do not last and cost just about the same. Buy the USA made Makita.
