Answer:
Yes that's why our company bought one. I had used one before. You can't beat it for cutting irregular shapes. We use a shear to cut long lengths, parallel to the ribs. It cuts like butter. You'll need some practice. I recommend you use a clamp-on guide you are comfortable with.

Answer:
Yes, it wil, and does a nice job on valley cuts. I still have the best luck really clamping the piece tightly with a board, the less vibration the more accurate you cut

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Works like a dream. I use it for R-panel and runs up and down the ribes with no prob. I dont know how long the needle stays sharp because i have only had it a short time. If i would have known how good this works i would have bought one years ago. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality AND Dependability I received my nibbler thinking it was too expensive. Now that I've used it, it is worth every penny. I love it. It's easy to use, nibbles just right, and leaves clean cutouts. Pick up nibble waste with a magnet. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works very well. This was a gift for my father that works in the AC VAC. He said it works well and does what is expected. He called it a fine tool that has helped make his job easier. He is overall very happy with this tool and Makita just happens to be one of his favorite tool brands. I thought it should include a storage box since my father made the comment that the tips are sensitive and he expected his crew to just want to throw it in with the other tools. lol. I would just recommend you store it in a safe place where it does not get beat up or buy a universal tool storage box like we did. January 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Totally painless online experience I was familiar with the product and was pleased that it had not been "value engineered" by some corporate guy who never used a tool in thier life. The quality is top notch. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 16ga Nibbler I have always been told if it is cheap it is probably cheap for a reason, well this is wrong, this thing cuts amazing, I just built a barn and had to cut around 20 pieces of R-panel, it saved me a large amount of time, I have a lot of makita power tools and they have yet to disappoint me.. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Have used for two months now and everything works well. October 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makita Nibbler Ive used every tool there is in the past to cut metal roofing, but not anymore! This nibbler is probaby the best Tool Investment I have ever made period. It is so much safer, quieter and quicker than anything Ive ever used. THANKS MAKITA AND HOME DEPOT great tool and great price!!! July 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the Job Done Used the nibbler to cut panels on a metal roof, it worked great, it saved a lot of time, very easy to use, one drawback, it only cuts forward, can't cut to the side. I would recommend to anyone thinking of buying one for cutting metal. April 15, 2014
