Customer Questions & Answers

what is the stock #'s for the connectors for Makita 55" guide rail?

Asked by: Anonymous
Sorry for the late response...this will help others just now buying this saw though. The Makita connectors for this rail are something like $26 each which is expensive considering you need to of them for a stable connection. Surprisingly, the Festool 482107 Rail Connectors are only $17 each and they will work with the Makita track. Make sure to get 2 of them for a stable connection.

The Makita 194368-5, 55 in. Plunge Saw Guide Rail, is intended to be used with the Makita SP6000J, 6- 1/2 in. Plunge Circular Saw. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Make sure to measure before cutting... I hate to leave a less-than-5 star review on this, but the fact is, those who are buying this are probably using it to connect to another rail, and Makita is not holding tolerances on this very well at all. This because a huge problem when you mate it with another rail, because when you set your saw gibs to be tight on one rail and the rails aren't the same dimension (even by 0.2mm), that means it will be noticeably loose or so tight you can't move the saw to the other. They either need to fix their quality control, or sell rails as a pair that are the same size, because as of now, you can't buy a second rail and expect it to fit; you need to buy 3 or 4 and keep the two closest fitting ones, and return the ones that don't work together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used with the Makita track saw produced straight cuts Easy to use. Once trimmed to a specific saw, line up on the cutting marks and a straight cut is made. I would use clamps with this instead of relying on track's friction to hold it in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must Have with a track saw A must have if you are going to rip 8 foot materials. The connectors do not make the two rails as one unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from works good but no connector included purchaed the rail to add on to the rail that came with the saw. The connector was not included and is not listed in the parts book. Called Makita and the connector was ordered but it was pricey.
