The Makita 3/4 in. Hammer Drill is powered by a 6.6-Amp motor that is engineered for the most demanding applications. The HP2050 features a torque-limiting clutch that disengages automatically if the bit binds, and a positive-stop mode selector that helps prevent accidental mode disengagement. Additional features include less weight (only 5.6 lbs.), a large trigger switch, and an ergonomic rubberized grip for increased comfort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mikita The adjusting key is to small in order to tie property the drill bits September 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hammer Drill for the price i used this on 6 inch concrete slab - with a 3/4 bosch blade, like a hot knife through butter. June 29, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Problem with this drill This started out as a great drill. But after using this drill only 5 times in the last year or so one of the gears lost some teeth. Took it back to HD and got an estimate on repair. Paid 99 for drill and repair would cost 105. No brainer, forget the repair and look for a better bult drill. November 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best drill I've owned thus far!! Bought this today at the local HD, to finish installing a dryer vent before my new dryer arrived today. Along with new masonry bits, this Makita 6.6 amp drill made short work of drilling through the tough red brick exterior of the house for the vent. I only wish I had bought this 20 years ago; I'm ready to tackle more drilling around the house now! As an aside, I've seen contractors using the Makita brand drills; having previously owned a B&D drill that oozed oil the entire time I've had it, I wasn't too interested in paying $99 today for a questionable hammer drill by the Yellow-brand B&D -owned company. Rated 2 out of 5 by First Bad Makita Tool I have several Makita Power Tools and like them all; I have had good luck with them. This might actually be made in the USA (!) After drilling approx (16) 1/2" holes in concrete block, I noticed that the chuck had developed considerable radial runout (side play). Then tried to drill a piece of steel with a proper bit, and the runout allowed the bit to walk. Took it back to the store and noticed that runout seems to be a big problem with many of the hammer drills...BUT some do have none, as a normal drill should have. Reluctantly bought another brand.
