9.6-Volt Ni-Cd Battery is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Price These are original equipment Makita batteries for a good price. I bought my drill-driver in 1997 and it still works well, though it's kinda ugly, now. It would be such a shame to toss it because batteries cost more than a new one and don't last. My original batteries lasted about 10 years. Aftermarket batteries have been lasting 2 to 4 years, but at 4 years would only drive a handful of screws. If these last like the OEM batteries, I'll be well satisfied.

It needs a 2.6Ah 12V Nickel Metal Hydride battery. This battery works, but at lower voltage. It's smaller size causes it to physically fall out of the drill on occasion. If I could find the Ni-MHD battery, that's what I would use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long? This battery really holds a charge. It is the perfect replacement for my 1990's cordless Makita tools.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exellent quality works well. Much to expensive. This is a good quality battery and holds a charge well. However at nearly $50 each, the product is over priced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A genuine Makita battery After four years of owning a cordless Makita drill, one of the batteries finally wouldn't hold a charge. Looking around the internet, batteries for my model were either very expensive or cheap. The cheaper ones looked similar to mine but didn't have the locking tabs and enlarging the images showed they weren't Makita. After searching everywhere, I decided to purchase from Home Depot because the battery shown was a Makita battery, the price was reasonable compared to other sites and the shipping was free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It fits correctly in the drill so I'm happy No problems so far, i hope it lasts a very long time though because it was very expensive for a battery.
