Answer:
Yes it is ment to work on a 12 Volt system. Watch that you don't overload circuit with to much wattage. Check your transformer Watt rating. You can use lower wattage bubls if that becomes a problem..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great !!!!!!!!!! best led light !! to bad they discontinued it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! January 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light puts out the Power As advertised, this is a 50w 12v outdoor light. The housing is very sturdy, moisture sealed, and adjustable. This was a clearance item, so the bulb is a halogen. At the price I paid, I will be able to replace with an LED bulb when the time comes and still be below the standard retail price. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Definitive review of this product This is a wonderful product if you are looking for something that is dirt cheap and will last a year or two at most (with constant upkeep). There are multiple ways that these fixtures fail: -the fixture is not corrosion proof and will start to decay and fall apart very quickly. This will be far quicker in a coastal environment or anyplace exposed to irrigation, harsh weather etc. -the O-rings which are supposed to keep the interior waterproof simply do not work well enough. Moisture, insects, dirt will all get in immediately -the glass face plate should be convex or treated in some way for water run-off. These do not and consequently water pools on top of them, starts to mineralize and eventually opacifies the glass. -the threading should be designed to resist the elements but it does not. Consequently, these bind up very quickly and when the bulbs fail you will be unable to unscrew the top housing. This happens to about 20% of them at least. -the stakes are made of plastic and will ALL fail within time. I would estimate the failure rate of these stakes at close to 100%. They seem to snap at the very junction with the fixture where the connection is the weakest. -the bi-pin bulbs works well but they constantly fall out if they are hit by children, dogs or gardeners. Therefore, be prepared to constantly reposition or replace them. This would not be a bad thing except for the fact that when the top housing binds down due to corrosion you can't get to these bulbs effectively. -the electrical connection that they supply is ludicrous. Throw these directly into the garbage and get yourself some real wire nuts (preferrably the waterproof types), electrical tape, wire strippers/cutters etc to do a proper job. If you use what is provided they will fail even quicker. If your prospects are all short-term and you don't need these to last for more than a year or two, then this will work very well for you. The price is about 5X less than similar fixtures made from brass/bronze/copper with convex lenses, effective waterproofing, better knuckles, better stakes etc. Those will probably last 5X as long and may, in the long run, be more effective and require far less work. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by low voltage lighting nice light for adding to existing system should last for many years to come September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product This is an excellent flood light for the price. I replaced the 50 watt bulb with 7 watt LED bulb bought from Amazon for ten dollars. The cap is water tight, and no worry of rain water getting into the body. Love this product. Planning to buy more to light up my front yard. August 11, 2015
