CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 56 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by FIX UPDATE - Quit working after one year Since Malibu was unwilling to replace the unit and I had nothing to lose, I decided to take the unit apart and see if I could identify the problem. I was successful. After taking apart the body of the unit, I exposed a small circuit board (approx 1" X 3"). On one side of this board a red wire and a black wire connect to it. Both of these connections were wiggly and needed to be re-soldered. I soldered the connections and reassembled the unit and it seems to be fine now. Hope this helps someone out there with the same problem. Still wish Malibu would stand behind their work a little better and take ownership of a clear product deficiency. October 11, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lasts 2 Years at Best This the 2nd one to go out on me. One of the wiring connectors was green & corroded. Cleaned & reattached wires, still not working, but you could hear it click on. Opened it up. The wire that fed the connector was totally disintegrated. It was green, corroded, brittle and no vinyl sheathing after the first inch coming from the transformer! Just a bare wire inside and I cannot replace it. I'm going back to 2 separate transformers in another brand! July 5, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk - plain and simple! Do NOT buy! 1- My first one quit after 11 months - and it was replaced. 2- The second one lasted 10 months - and it was replaced at no charge. 3- The third one died after 2 days!!!!!!!! My guess is that it has something to do with the light sensor. I am amazed that Home Depot is STILL selling these. I noticed that Amazon states they are no longer available. I will give Home Depot credit, however, they did swap them out at no charge. The question, really, is why do they continue to carry them? This really gives Home Depot a bad name! Malibu products really seem to be going down hill - FAST! But, that's another issue. February 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Burned out but easy repair Transformers have no moving parts and rarely fail. What goes is the timer, the switch, etc. I have a 300 watt Malibu and they cost almost $100. So when mine failed after about 3 years, I opened it up, cut the wires that went to the timer and the on/off switch, closed it back up and attached it to a $25 outdoor timer with a photo eye. Plugged it back in and bingo... Works just fine. November 23, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk Six months after installation, the digital clock totally went dark and the unit stopped working. I am taking it back and see if The Home Depot stands by the product!! July 14, 2014
