Answer:
The solar spotlight is in a medium intensity range of brightness because the light is positioned underneath to shine upward on an American flag and the colors of the flag are visually distinctive at night.

It's solar charge only, there should be no need to replace a battery. There may be a power storage cell but I have seen no info as to replace one and would probably be cheaper to buy a new light. H

These use ni-cad type rechargeable batteries. You can buy extras separately, either online or in the store. My spotlights haven't needed to have the batteries replaced yet, I've had them over a year.

Why would you need instructions? Just pull the tab for the battery and put it together. Good idea to keep it somewhere where you get plenty of sun

My lights all came with instructions and would light right out of the package check by just covering the solar panel which also houses the light sensor, with your hand or a dark piece of cloth or the like and the unit should light.

Answer:
If the light is new out of the package you should have instructions between the cardboard sleeves. Look for a yellow tab and pull the tab, the manufacturer places a plastic strip between the battery and the connection. If tab is missing open the battery compartment remove battery clean connections then re install battery.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional light Purchased lights online a recieved immediately.Did not use the ground stake that was provided.Installed lights on galvanized base mounted to tree.Used zip ties around tree to prevent drilling tree. The solar lights are mounted about a foot off the ground so a weedeater can get under.Wonderful little lights that illuminate the palm trees for about 5 hrs depending how much sun they got during the day. Will purchase 6 more when I illuminate the rest of the yard.Very happy with this product November 13, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good value, nice design, poor quality I had to return both solar spotlights that i purchased because they were broken right out of the packaging, which I took appropriate care in opening. On both lights the snap ring adaptor between the battery cover and the LED lamp housing was broken, due to several teeth having snapped right off. Having worked in the plastics industry for over 25 years it appears to me that an inferior grade of plastic was used in manufacturing these parts, which unfortunately has become an all too common occurrence for products made in China. Even though the design was good and the price/value reasonable, the quality of this product was severely lacking. I hope this will be improved in the future. August 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good product overall I got this light hoping to use it as a security light in a dark area of my back yard. The light is very bright but does not extend as far as I would like. Would be very good as a spot light which is what it is sold as. I may get 1 or 2 more and be able to get the coverage I wanted. The only drawback is that the light must be located in a place that gets all day sun in order to fully charge. Light shines all night if fully charged. I had one cloudy day and the light didn't stay bright all night. Overall I would say this is a good product especially for the price ($10). April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good spot light I just purchased my third one and 2 have been working with no problems. The other worked for about a year then stopped. I found that the battery was not charging and fixed the problem finding that the solder connection at the solar panel broke. I soldered the wire back on and started charging again. The lights put out pretty good and light up my house from easily 50 feet away. I used to have all 3 on the front of the house but moved one to the back because it was a little bright. On a mostly sunny day, they will charge and last all night. A good value! May 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay, but not great I purchased 3 of these solar spotlights. One arrived damaged while still sealed in the packaging. (H.D. refunded the amount so not an issue) When I removed the other 2 from the packaging, I could see why....these are made of all plastic and you really need to handle them with care, which is ironic since they are meant for being used outside. They don't project much light, even with the 4 (four) LED's. I initially bought them to spotlight our Christmas wreaths but they did not put out enough light to reach, so I have moved them to another location in the backyard to light up a dark corner. It puts out just enough light to see where you are going. I'm glad I got them on sale, if I paid the full price, I would surely be returning them all. January 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Simple repair will correct Great value but expect a 1 in 3 chance that the 4 prongs/flexure features that allow the solar panel to connect to the main housing to be broken. I bought 12 and at least four of them had this problem out-of-the-box. I glued this joint together to fix (but looses the ability to rotate the solar panel; but tilt joint still works). So pick your ideal rotation angle before you glue. A design flaw/thin plastic... Embarrassing for the maker, but at $9.97/ea this is worth the inconvenience. I'm buying 6 more now. July 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly a Great Performer! Great reviews and a nominal price – I had to try this little spotlight, and I am not disappointed. Simple, quick and easy assembly and installation, but what a little powerhouse of a spotlight! I wanted a spotlight to illuminate an accent tree with Asiatic Lilies and Liriope around the base in my front yard. This little spotlight does the job beautifully -- from dusk 'til dawn! I’m impressed with the brightness, the range of light, and the many variable positions available. I couldn’t be more pleased with this inexpensive, beautifying landscape investment. August 25, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad design These lights have a design flaw, the solar collector breaks off of the light housing VERY easily, sometimes before they come out of the package. There a similar light for more money, and they do not break, which leads me to believe this brand is just poorly made. Not the quality I usually encounter with Malibu brand. Save your money, order the more expensive brand, these will break (if they don't arrive broken- shake the package before you purchase, if you hear rattling inside, the light is already broken).
