Well, wonder of wonders. I finally talked to a representative at Brinkmann/Malibu who informed me that they just recently received and distributed about 500 of these stakes to customers who had ordered them. This is NOT the same as the Home Depot number 5301-9209-J6, which is the number for a 2-pack. Why someone had not clarified that previously is beyond comprehension. This is also the reason that an online query on the Brinkmann/Malibu website didn't produce any results. It doesn't, however, explain why an item-by-item parts search didn't produce this item, but not much about this had made good sense. In any event, I'm now on the backorder list, although there is not idea when more of these might come in. if you are still interested, you can contact Brinkmann/Malibu at 1-888-295-7348, and select 1 to place a new order. When will replacement stakes be avaiilable?

I've been searching for over a year for replacement stakes for the Malibu Tier Lights. The part number for the stakes I need is 5301-9202-J6. This is a plastic stake, and none of the other Malibu replacement stakes fit these lights, I note that Home Depot and Malibu both still sell these lights. It seems strange to me that I can't find the replacements stakes for a product in current distribution.

How about a straight answer? Over a year backorder?

This question is from Tier Light Replacement Stakes (2-Pack)
April 23, 2015
How hard is it to mold a simple piece of obviously cheap plastic? These things snap when someone walks by or a weed trimmer hits it.

My simple solution is to replace the Malibu light with another brand each time one of the stakes snaps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TRY THIS!! TO REPLACE YOUR BROKEN STAKES **LESS COSTLY!!!*** Just to maybe make it more helpful for anyone that has had problems with ( NEW or REPLACEMENT STAKES ) I bought a 4 foot X 1/2 inch round dowel that cost $1.60 @ HD and cut it into four 12 inch pc's to replace these cheap stakes. Install 12" piece of dowel in ground and level to perferred existing light height. Remove broken part of stake, slide stake pole over dowell and thats it!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality, stakes brake off easily I was given a set for Christmas, then bought an additional number of extra lights to complete what I could use with the maximum wattage for the transformer and wire. The stakes just can't be bumped or moved without breaking off. Ordered extra stakes for addition $30 and have now broken them off. This whole light set is very cheaply made and not worth the price. Go with a heavier metal and metal stakes. They need to replace the plastic stakes with a metal stake for this set if Home Depot continues to sell it in their stores. DO NOT BUY THIS !!! I have $350 invested, and with they would take them back and replace them with a better quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tier light Malibu plastic stakes Purchased Malibu lighting for our home. The lights have a plastic stake to hold the lights upright however the slightest touch or bump the tip of the stake breaks off inside the metal pole attached to the light. WHY NOT CHARGE A BUCK EXTRA AND MAKE THE STAKE OUT OF METAL. You go back to Home Depot and they don't carry the plastic stakes so you have to order them. I have fifteen light in the garden and have already had five break. I suggest looking at other manufactures who have better quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ill designed stake The stake breaks off very easily.. Brinkman wants $1.29 for a replacement stake but charges $7.95 for shipping..poor way of doing business. Evidently Malibu does not read the customer reviews or simply does not care that a re-design is needed for the stake...lousy design. I do not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These stakes are pieces of junk! These stakes are junk and should not be sold via mail. When shipping is added to the cost of the stakes, it makes the transaction insane.
Date published: 2013-03-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have this type light you will need some replacement stakes. I like the Malibu lights and they were not too hard to install. But the ground mount stakes are a very poor design and only a slight bump will break off the top of the stake where it fits into the light tube. Buy some stakes in advance because you need them

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor choice I bought an 8 light set. After the first season I replaced 7 broken stakes. 5 of those broke the next season.
Date published: 2013-04-30
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Replace with wooden dowels! I took the advice of using wooden dowel and it works perfectly. These break off so easy with a simple nudge if you or your pets run into them.
