The 'lifetime' warranty on Marathon tanks is 20 years. Not your lifetime...

This product appears to have been the "cure all" for my hot water system. We have experienced an increase in water pressure, hotter water, better smelling water and we no longer have to take turns showering. With a minimum of four and as many as eight people in our house on any given day, lack of hot water can be a problem.
We live in a somewhat rural part of Maryland and we're on well water. Our first hot water heater gave out after only seven years of use due to corrosion. We shouldn't have that problem anymore since this product doesn't have a metal tank.
It's only been a month but this hot water heater gets an A++ from me.

I love this water heater. I was getting a 14yr old 66gal water heater replaced and this one fit the bill perfectly. The old one could never fill our soaking tub before it ran out of hot water. This one can fill it no problem and with plenty to spare for any other hot water loads. It is also very light for it size and very energy efficient for a hot water tank. It actually uses around 400 less kwh per year compared to the old tank that is smaller. I also like the fact that the tank itself has a lifetime warranty with a 6yr warranty on the parts. No more worrying about rust build up.

This is my second purchase of this unit. Had originally planned to install two water heaters for a vacation home rental that serves multiple family groups. Found that my connections were prohibitive for two units, and considered either this unit or a large water heater sold by Lowe's. This one had fantastic reviews and seems more durable and better insulated. After a year and a half on the first unit, I have purchased another for another rental property. No complaints at all. Uses the same power connections as the older units we replaced, but for twice as much water heated!

I have well water and my hot water heaters are short lived so this seemed like the perfect choice. I also have a geo-thermal heating / cooling system with a hot water generator. The geo-thermal manufacturer recommends as large a hot water heater as possible for storage. With everything connected the geo unit heats the water to about 115 then the electric elements take it up another 15 to 20 degrees. Even though this thing is really big it is light enough to easily move around. Since the house is 200 years old I measured very carefully before I purchased. The height was close but I had sufficient room to make all the connections.
I read other reviews about people having problems with elements and thermostats and plan to order a spare of each so that I am prepared..
For those of the DIY mentality it was an easy install thanks to PEX and the proper crimping tool ... the worst part of the job was dragging the old hot water heater out of the basement.
