David, Seems Home Depot forwarded your query to me when only they can answer your question. The water heater was not available in my KittyHawk Store, requiring me to have them order it online in August of 2014. Upon its arrival I picked it up and installed it myself. It turned out that the new 105 gal unit weighed less than the old 80 gal one and installation was straight forward. In the year of service we could not be more pleased. My standard routine when traveling is turn off both main water supply and water heater power. Recently after a two week trip, I turned on the water but neglected the circuit breaker. On the 3rd day we noticed that showers were not as warm as usual and I realized & corrected my oversight.
Hope this helps.

105 Gal. Tall 4500 Watt Lifetime Electric Water Heater is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed in 4 years. I had this installed in my new house and after 4 years it is DEAD. The Warranty Page won't actually show you the warranty, and the warranty verification tool says it can't find the status of my hot water heater, even though the marketing department seems to be able to find its model from my serial number and send me marketing emails JUST FINE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifetime tank A replacement for an old Marathon which we have had problems with in the early years. Warranty was no hassle. Excellent service from Rheem rep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not dependable I suggest that anyone who has one of these water heaters learn how to replace the elements, or you will be paying out a lot of money on a regular basis to a plumber. The elements burn out quickly, especially the upper one. Also, I received a replacement water heater under warranty (and paid our plumber hundreds to remove the old one and replace with new one) and Marathon told me this newer one has elements made of titanium, but they were not, so the replacement was not an improvement like they led me to believe. Upper element burned out after 2 years with just occasional use (it's in a seasonal home and, btw, we are aware of making sure the tank is full of water before turning it on).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of HOT Water! I bought the water heater to replace one that had started leaking, I was able to take a HOT shower less than an hour after I installed it and our family of 4 has not run out oh hot water yet. The outside of the water heater stays at room temperature thanks to the superior insulation. I bought mine through our Electric CO OP (Ozarks Electric Cooperative) and saved about $250.00 vs buying from a home center or other outlet They only sell the highest efficiency electric appliances (water heaters and heat pumps) to their members and they are sold at cost since by law an Electric Cooperative can't make a profit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lifetime Warranty* I bought 2 of these recently. I'm not sure how well they will last and I'm not sure why you need to register them to get a lifetime warranty or why they cost so much. Will I own the house in another 10+ years to see if they last longer than my last ones??? Maybe. The reason I bought them was because my plumber recommend them because of the lifetime warranty, but even he has no idea how long they will last. Here's hoping.... The only reason I rated this medium and not higher is because it is newer and I have really no idea how long it will last or how it is performing compared to my old one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Silver Bullet We've beenin our house 11 years & have had to replace our 2nd tank. So our plumber recommended it as a life time option. Like the look, water is nice & HOT, looks good in the corner, the grey helps it fade away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent water heater. Bought this unit two weeks ago after our traditional metal water heater made a mess in our basement. So far can't complain, it heats water really good. The manufacturer pre-set temperature was way too high (150°F) so I set it lower, it took more than 5 days to get the temperature where it needed to be as it really keeps it's heat. It is pricy, but it will be worth it for these two reasons: the lifetime warranty and the excellent heat retention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Dependable I specified this heater, due to its energy efficiency and reputation, when our house was built in 2013. Due to the plumber not using all brass fittings when installed, galvanic corrosion caused the incoming cold water galvanized iron fittings to fail on top of the water heater. The water heater was replaced under warranty about a year ago and all has been fine since.
