This is Dry Erase board?

This is material to use as a dry erase board?
Asked by: Jim
NO-this is NOT dry erase, it is horrible, I'm not even sure why they sell it. I bought it and mounted it in my daughters room thinking it was dry erase and was so disappointed, because it doesn't erase easily. Yes, you can scrub it off with magic eraser, but who wants to do that?? Waste of money!!

Is the surface water proof? Making a craft table that i will use dry erase markers on and also water color paints.

If water is spilled on it, will it be damaged?
Asked by: bigityb
No and yes. The dry erase surface won't absorb water. The back and edges will. I had one get wet in the rain. The dry erase surface bubbleb up as it pulled away from the backing.

Marker Board (Common: 3/16 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft.; Actual: 0.180 in. x 23.75 in. x 47.75 in.) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT FOR HOCKEY SHOOTING PAD I got this to put on the floor and use it for hockey shooting pad. All you have to do is spray it with Pledge and kind of rub it in with a rag. It feels like ice and it is a lot cheaper then real shooting pads but works just as good if not better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard white finish, many uses These dry erase panels can be purchased in single sheets or packs of four. The snow white finish is hard and glossy and cuts cleanly with a laminate blade. I used three of these panels to construct a set of pull out bins for my wife’s collection of food storage containers. The 3/16” thickness is adequate for lightly loaded bins although I did reinforce the corners with white vinyl quarter round extrusion. I painted the unfinished side with a shellac based primer and white enamel. I am also experimenting with laminating these panels unfinished face to unfinished face yielding a 3/8” material. The cost of this two layer board is comparable to ¾” melamine particle board but feels like white glass fused to hardwood. Whether you are just building a dry erase board or something custom for the kitchen, this material has a very classy durable finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Although not as good as a professional dry erase boards it is much more affordable. Cleaning is harder than professional dry erase boards. If you erase within a couple of hours the ink seem to come off easy. If you let the ink dry over a couple of days it won't wipe off. Simply use a rag with rubbing alcohol to dissolve the ink and wipe with a dray rag. Again cheaper but harder to clean than professional dry erase boards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed The only challenge if finding clean sheets at the store, we went through every piece on the floor and most had dinged up corners

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not easy to erase I just bought it yesterday and write some text on it. I use the expo dry erase pen and standard eraser that comes with the dry erase package. One text must erase a few times until clean. Another text, I leave it for 15 minutes then erase it. Again It needs the effort to erase it. I often leave the text on many days for the projects plan. So I return it back next day. Not happy with the cleaning but I like the size and price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Stuff I bought three of these from our local Las Vegas Serene location. They appear fine, but after mounting them and using Expo dry erase markers, it's almost impossible to erase with a standard dry marker eraser! It takes significant effort to remove any previous residue and completely defeats the point. I ended up getting some goo remover chemical to clean the board. I might as well write on my wall and paint over it every time I want to post something, it would take less effort. Waste of time & money. Complete disappointment. Not to mention my time & effort to purchase these, haul them home and mount to my wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It serves well To do list applications are great...reminder applications are also great, but a white board filled with todo's to complete staring at you constantly for your attention to be completed is better. I purchased this whiteboard and I have become more productive excellent buy for the price it's worth it. I used command strips to hang it firmly to the wall. #perfection #funtionality

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price. Pros - Very inexpensive for a whiteboard! You can erase dry erase marks with rubbing alcohol if they start to stain. Cons - My boards warped slightly after I put them up (but not enough that I am dissatisified). I'm considering putting up more.
