I had the same problem of the mortar getting packed in the tip, but by adjusting the proportion (less sand), the squeezed out smooth like cake icing. The bag cleans up easy with a quick rinse.

Thought i would save time and energy using this on a large tile floor project, but ended up ditching it after about 5 minutes. It doesn't work well AT ALL with grout, as sanded grout is much too thick. You have to cut the tip really high to make it come out at all, and then you end up having way too large of a stream.
The bag is tough to squeeze, and it gets tiring quite quickly. In addition, if you fill it more than half way full, it's heavy.
Not recommended. Skip this and grout the old fashioned way.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Landlord208 Made my pointing much easier
I have an old building with a stone foundation. The mortar is crumbling from between the stones. This bag made it much easier to inject lots of mortar into the gaps. I tried standard pointing tools that didn't work well with the stones. This made the job much less frustrating.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cathy Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for..appears to be durable. Ability to lock is added bonus.
Received in good shape. Shipper placed on front porch..which was great. Arrived when they said it would.

The Marshalltown grout bag is in essence a cake/icing decorating bag. The cake bag range in size, quality and price while this grout bag is one large size; approximately 24Dx 24L heavy duty plastic shaped cone. It should work fine for grout but I attempted with cement and does not work because cement is too thick and set up too fast. All in all, it’s fine for thin viscosity materials.

Seems okay. Only used it once so far. Price could be a little cheaper for what it is.
