Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GAHokie01 Sanding almost a pleasure...almost
We just bought/moved into a foreclosure during the holidays. The previous owner was in the middle of doing renovations. He sure loved to slapping compound all over the walls, but didn't care so much for laying it on thin or sanding it down at all.
I had a hefty sanding task ahead of me and knew it would be a nightmare. I tried a powered orbital sander and it left an awful mess. Not to mention the wife wasn't too happy with dust all over. Manual sanding was still going to be dusty so I searched for a solution and found this.
I originally say another brand at the other chain, but it's reviews were bad. This one had good reviews so I went for it. It's great. It sucks up nearly all the dust. I only have to worry about the film that's left on the wall. That's far much better than piles on the floor for the cats to track around. Attached to my 6.5 HP blower/vac, this thing simply works. It clings to the wall all on its own!
I'm enjoying sanding much more now...almost too much..almost. At least I'm getting my honey-do list trimmed down. Okay, who am I kidding, I'm making room on the list for other things.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Debi works well with good shop vac & filter
Hooked it up to 14 gallon 6.5 peak HP shop vac with liner and really good filter, did not have much sanding dust. I used to do the first passes and knock down the higher bumps and ridges and then switched to a sanding sponge because the 120 grit sanding mesh was leaving some small grooves/lines. I was doing a flat wall finsh (no texture) so needed it smooth. Maybe a finer grit or sanding mesh that was more wore out would have helped. I have a bunch more to do so will experiment with other sanding mesh to see if I can further reduce the use of a sanding sponge. It was sometimes a big awkward to manuever. I was happy with the product, it did reduce the sanding dust.

This product performed as advertised. I used this units vaccuum power level on maximum suction (it is adjustable, less suction would give you more dust I assume, but easier to sand), I hate drywall dust. The suction was so great it would hold product to wall with no hands (using a wet/dry vac), making it a little more difficult to move back and forth to sand. The hose is also a little restricting when sanding as well as moving the vac around. This is a small price to pay however. When I was finished sanding the 3' X 5' area there was barely any evidence I had worked there, amazing results. If you are in an area that low or no dust is a must and you are willing to sacrifice a little in the "ease of use" department then this product is for you, highly recommended.

just need to be careful not to press too hard or the grit will make grooves. but the pro's out-weigh this - there is literally no drywall dust!

I was skeptical of other highly touted reviews. But this product is the best!! There is NO dust whatsoever, you don't need a mask to work, even overhead. The swivel end on the handle makes keeping the hose out of the way a snap. I have used it with the suction control wide open, it truly will not move with full suction. This model is slightly more expensive than others, but the extra features are worth it. I also purchased the shop vac dust bags and my filter is completely clean. No stopping to blow out the filter constantly. I would recommend this to anyone doing drywall, it's a huge time and effort saver!

You can sand a room and not get any dust in it. I think this is a good quality simple to use product. I should last for years.

I am quite pleased with this accessory. It fits on my shop vac perfectly and catches most of the dust created during the sanding of the drywall. So far I have used the vacuum sander for a couple of hours, but I will be using it extensively as I finish drywalling the room above our garage. As others have suggested, be sure to purchase the appropriate filter for your shop vac.
