Does this paint dries up clear? If not do they come in clear as well?

Asked by: Luvnani01
Good day, Luvnani01. Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. This paint does not dry clear; it dries in a grey hue. We do not have an option in clear. Most, if not all, magnetic paint will dry grey due to the iron particles in the paint. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

If I paint over chalkboard paint will it still work and will it dry clear ?

Asked by: Neecer
This won't dry clear (it's grey). Also, I would suggest painting the magnetic layers first, then going over with the chalkboard paint. I think if you do the chalkboard paint first then go over with the magnetic paint, you wouldn't be able to write on the chalkboard.

How much surface will one jar cover?

Asked by: Lisa
Howdy Lisa, A 4 ounce container of paint will cover about 3.5 sq. ft. However since you need to put 2-3 coats, this will be about 1/2 to 1/3 of that area. Happy Painting, Coach Dave

Very disappointed that the magnetic paint can't even hold up the lightest of our travel magnets. I put on the suggested 3 coats. I'm thinking about trying a couple of more coats to see if that might help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not performing as Described This primer has great body, goes on well, and once ready, just might hold a decorative magnet, but NOT a heavier magnet with paper in between. Directions are simplified and seem to be narrowly designed for craft use only, not for the small smooth wall application I had in mind.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, just not as well as I wished; I used this to create my own magnetic board for photos. I originally purchased one container hoping it would be enough to work properly on a 18x24 surface. I ended up purchasing four containers and applying multiple layers before the magnets would hold up the photos. Ultimately the product works, but you may want to purchase a little more than what you think you need.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Barely holds I purchased this point knowing it's a Martha Stewart brand thinking that it would be high quality especially for the price. Barely holds
