I was nervous going into this paint project after reading the reviews. After watching the Home Depot How-To video and following his recommendations, my first paint project went off without a hitch! I used a similar color as a base/primer coat, used the metallic paint, then applied a stencil pattern to give a metallic wallpaper look. Love the outcome!!

I used the bronze metallic paint for the base coat and then faux painted over the base coat with the copper and gold glaze. It is gorgeous! The bathroom is small but the dark ceiling isn't overwhelming at all. It is very interesting and just beautiful. I have to do this somewhere else in my house as well!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rollergirl Product works great - roller is the problem
I have used both Ralph Lauren Regent Metallics and MSL Precious Metals with great results. It is meant to be a sheer finish. If you desire more intense coverage; paint a base color on the wall that is similar to the metallic color.
Now onto the real problem ~ the MSL rollers. The new rollers have fibers that are too long and they hold too much paint, this makes it very difficult for the roller to actually roll which would be why line patterns will occur.
Ask the store if they have any of the Ralph Lauren Regent Metallic rollers left; the fibers are a lot less fluffy and will not overload your roller - the results on the wall are like night and day.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KF225 Worst Paint Ever!
Wish I could give it no stars. This is the worst paint (Mirrored Glass) I have ever worked with. I have done 5 coats on two flat doors and it is still streaky. I have tried every technique I could think of to get it to not streak, but no luck. I got the best roller and rolled it on thickly going only one direction and it still looks terrible. Every time you pick up your roller it leaves marks. If your roller skips a bit, it leaves marks. Anytime you touch it, it leaves marks. I'm going to have repaint the doors Again - this time with another paint. Very irritating because this paint is not cheap!

Really upset. There were no warning signs at Home Depot that the Martha Stewart line was discontinuing. I purchased 2 gallons and then we had to tear into our wall and we ran out of paint, since the stuff needs at least 3 -4 coats. Well, We only had enough for one coat. We go back to Home Depot to buy another gallon and they no longer sell the Martha Stewart line. I spent over $100 on 2 gallons to have to repaint the entire room now because I was told the paint cannot be matched and the codes are no longer in the Home Depot system. Ralph Lauren makes a silver, but they cannot use their silver metallic to match and there's looks about 3 shades darker. In the future, I would hope that if a paint line were to be discontinued, you would inform your loyal customers before creating a HUGE inconvenience and loss of money for them. I am NOT happy!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Casey DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PAINT!
This is BY FAR the worst paint I have ever used. It streaks, no matter how many coats I apply or how diligently I follow the application instructions. I would rank it a Zero if I could. Please, save your money. I returned the remainder to Home Depot and challenged their management to use it in their homes. They will then understand why I, and so many others, consider this paint to be an appalling waste of money and effort. Hopefully they will then lobby to have this grossly inferior line of paint removed from store shelves.

My wife picked the paint and I was not aware on how to apply it.
We had dark brown walls. I knew we had to use a primer for a good coverage. After looking at the paint I realized that you need a solid base coat. Luckily I told her we needed a primer
I could have gotten a better result if we had a better base, but after a few rolls of the paint I figured out that I was going to really work at it for a good result. THIS IS NOT A PAINT FOR GREAT COVERAGE YOU NEED A SOLID BASE PERIOD.
Once i figured that out it turned out great.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AW22 Terrible paint but incredible painter!
This is the first room in my house that I haven't painted myself. Chose Martha Stewart metallic b/c it's a one step paint (not a technique). After three coats, my walls were streaked and looked horrible. Thank goodness for my incredible painter who fixed a bad situation. He brushed X's all over the walls and now it looks amazing, like a hammered metal! A very beautiful look if done right but the paint is as thin as water and very pricey.
Will post a picture once the paint has dried.
