Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking, but some quality control issues I ordered two of these baskets. They look good and the lights are nice and bright. I was hesitant at first because the product description said nothing about a timer, but I tested them and the lights shut off after 6 hours. I assume they turn on again after another 18 hours, but haven't tested this. There were, however, issues with both baskets. The lights on the first one were distributed mostly on one side, with very few on the other. I'll have to try to rearrange them more evenly. I also spotted one bulb that wasn't lit. I counted 22 lit bulbs, so there must be another unlit one that I didn't see. Fortunately, the individual LED bulbs can be removed and replaced, which is nice since most LED strands have fixed bulbs. I can't say how easy it is to find replacement bulbs, since I haven't looked. At first, the second basket wouldn't light up at all. After some checking with a multimeter, I discovered that for some reason the positive connector for one of the batteries wasn't conducting power. The exact same batteries worked fine in the other basket, and swapping in different batteries didn't help, so the problem is with the connector. I found that if something conductive touched both the connector and the end of the battery, then the lights would work. I put a small piece of aluminum foil between the battery and the connector, and they worked perfectly after that. I can't explain why they don't work if the battery directly touches the connector. Since the problems I experienced were fixable and these baskets were far less expensive than similar items, I decided not to return them. You should be cautious, however, since the manufacturer seems to have problems with quality control. September 14, 2013
