If you are able to screw it into a stud and use a high poundage drywall screw, you could. However, it is recommended to install it using the Martha Stewart Closet product vertical panels.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love ALL the Martha Stewart products purchased to organize my closets! Purchased the closet organization pieces for two closets and the necktie holder and the hamper. LOVE each and every item. Functional, looks good and makes me feel soooo organized! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional for both ties and belts I have more belts than ties at this point and the tie section of the rack holds them very well. Easy to install and solid, works great May 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BELT HANGER Item was excellent quality but I ordered this as a belt hanger and the belts just slid right off the small ball at the end of each hanger. They needed to be either bigger or a hook. Maybe better for ties but not so good for belts! March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I was looking for. Works well. Easy to install. Recommend. Good. Product. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product is very functional and attractive. I used this in my laundry room to hang a mop, a sleeve ironing board, and a light bulb changer on. I was afraid it wouldn't hold all that weight since it was intended for ties and belts, but it works great. February 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps ties organized A bit awkward while trying to install, but once installed it works well. It would have been nice to have a small metal handle on the end to pull out rather than grabbing the end of the wooden rack or the metal posts that the ties are on. April 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product, stupid installation This is a really nice product, it slides very well and matches the rest of the closet system. My only complaint is the installation. The slide rail does not detach from the hooks meaning one hole lines up with the pre-drilled hole and you're left drilling the second. It's not a huge deal, however when drilling the second hole, my hand slightly slipped form my level making slide not perfectly straight. No one else may notice it, but my OCD-ness notices it every time I walk in the closet. August 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product All of the “Martha Stewart” closet line is nice. I especially appreciate the full, or nearly full ball-bearing extension glides. This particular unit is slightly limited because of space-taking issues: If installed in one of the organizer units, the assembly, including pins, is approximately 3” in depth, space lost, or at least rubbing against clothes is probable. Because of pin spacing, best use lends itself to ties –many belt buckles are too wide. April 9, 2015
