Customer Questions & Answers

Is it possible to install this directly to a wall on one side?

I don't have the room for a vertical panel on one wall, so I need to be able to attach the rod directly to the wall. Will this work? I intend to use the D2 hanging tower on one side, then the rod to the wall on the other.
Asked by: Anonymous
You could stall it to the wall, if you screw it into the studs. However, it is a telescoping rod that is adjustable so you can adjust it to fit in your area. If it is still too big at its smallest adjustment, you can cut them down to be able to have it fit.

is 24 inches the smallest rod available? I need one that would fit under the 12inch shelves.

We can't get this rod to extend. Can't find a way to create any tension like with spring tension rods that are adjustab

Asked by: Linda
In order to extend the rod, you will want to grab onto the two ends, and pull. It should slide in and out of each other rather easily. There is no spring or stop within the rod that will hold it in place. When it is properly installed in between two Martha Stewart Closets vertical panels, it will not move on its own,

24 in.- 35 in. Adjustable Silver Rod is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from You pick the length This system was uber easy to install. The closet system hangs from a track. It was just a matter of finding the studs in the wall and making sure I drilled into studs. It also came with a few heavy weigh anchors. I used those were the studs were further apart. The rod does extend out. I would caution against extending all the way out. It gets weak in the middle and sags. It was perfect for the size of my closet. Also the hanger do catch on the rod where it transitions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not what I expected I bought these rods to mount on the wall of my laundry room. There are little metal pieces on the sides so the rod won't sit flush against the wall. The screws provided have a flat end so I had to go buy screws for mounting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the Job These rods do the trick when it comes to holding up clothes for the closets. If your closet design requires space that is less than 24 inches, you'll need to cut these rods down to size. We took them to our local home depot and they cut them to the appropriate lengths for free. The only problem that we have with these rods is that the bars are different sizes (since one has to fit inside the other so they can adjust) and the hangers will get caught on the rim of the larger bar. Not a big deal, but definitely worth noting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not rated to hold as much weight as a simple wooden closet rod. I bought 4 of these rods to go into a closet set up of the same brand. I ended up not using them at all. Given that they only support 35 lbs max, it is very easy to exceed this weight in a 35" span of hanging clothes; for winter wear, especially. I decided it wasn't worth the risk. Plus, the metal sounds terrible with metal hangers. Instead, I installed a hardwood dowel with rod-cups into the pre-drilled holes in the Martha Stewart upright panels. Less expensive, and rated for a lot more weight for the same rod length.
