Rated 3 out of 5Â by Wabbit Pilot holes don't line up well
I installed a whole 13-foot closet worth of this brand's uprights and shelves. Unfortunately, the shelf pilot holes aren't drilled with much precision so some of the shelves stick out beyond the face of the uprights by 1/8" or so. Not the end of the world, but it looks cheap. Also, be aware that when you buy the shelves you do not get the support cleat boards the instructions say you require. I don't know how you would get these, either, since they are not sold as an individual piece. I had to buy 1/3" board and paint it to match the back wall of the closet.

I bought these shelves as part of my overall closet redo and they are of excellent quality. Below is my recap of my overall review:
After remodeling our master bathroom my wife decided we needed new closets converting our wire frame shelving to something more "professional" looking. After using several different online design tools the Martha Stewart Closet Design tool was by far the best for a couple of reasons. First, it was easy to use and save my designs. Second, loved the ability to add to the cart directly from the tool so once I had my design done I didn't have to hunt for all the parts to build and buy. Third, by building online I was able to refer back to my design when installing the closet systems. As far as the quality of the product I think it was just about like everything else in the market but less expensive. Lastly, the installation was fairly easy. Once I figured out where to put the rail that basically held the closet systems installing was a breeze. Everything goes together very well and the final product was better than expected. The product was delivered to my house on a 4 x 6 pallet and well packed. No damage to any carton and I had everything I needed to build and install. Happy wife, happy life!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ktclosets Actually easy to assemble and sturdy
We were a little sketchy about mounting a bracket on the wall and then hanging the whole organizing unit on that bracket but they have been great. We did 5 closets with Martha's system.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by HandyAnn Great closet system
We got the MS closet system for 4 closets, including walk-in MBr one with 12 drawers. One drawer box was damaged and another drawer front, but Cust Serv sent out a replacement that is to arrive today (1 wk later) without having to ship back the damaged ones...big help. I like the slanted shoe shelves (almost didn't select this)...much easier to see what's there and only reduced shelving by one, but cost less also.
In order to make the top level, we used another shelf as stationary since using the adj pegs in the top makes the top shelf even with the vertical supports. When we wanted things to line up in two adjacent units, we drilled other holes or used a hidden L-bracket we already had that I painted to match. (This would be a nice additional option for MS to add).
For the kitchen pantry we did white..which is nice, but in the others we ordered the espresso since it cost the same...looks very classy. If any of your closet rods will be less than about 20", you need to be prepared to cut that heavy rod as well (we had the tools, so no problem), and we taped all the shelving that had to be cut since another reviewer said it gave cleaner cuts.
We feel overall we got a better value & product by doing this ourselves using the MS closets.
