My home is minimalistic so when I needed to combine my kitchen side table, my daily study corner and additional guest seating in one, I found it in this piece. My books, notebooks and pens fit in cubbie bins out of sight. The slots under the bench are large enough to fit almost a ream of paper, which fits my study supplies and binder beautifully. The cushion comes wrapped in plastic so I just kept it on there, in case my dog's paws touch the light grey fabric. Additonal guest seating can feel sturdy sitting on this bench! Very happy to de-clutter my dining area with something that's functional and matches my cubbie shelf in the foyer.

Assembly was a snap, and it has good instructions for novices. We decided to spray the cushion with Scotchguard, even though the cover is removable (zipper in back).
It's Martha Stewart, so there are naturally plenty of accessories of the same brand--baskets in this case--that fit perfectly in the bottom cubbies.
We find the small slots above the larger cubbies very functional, but be aware that any trays that fit snugly in the middle slot (11.0" width) will not work on the left and right; there is a 1/2" support piece for the bench at each far L/R edge of the piece. If you want to put matching trays in all three slots, you'll want to make sure they are no more than 10.25" wide (3.5" uniform height on all 3 slots).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LeanneB Never purchase this again!
I have purchased many items from HD. The appliances and home furnishings along with the usual supplies do well. Their now defunct contract services was the worst experience I ever had with HD (poor quality and high cost) until trying to put this bench together. The effort into putting this bench together was nominal. The particle board was so poorly made that just putting it in the slots started peeling off. Oh, steps 5 & 6 require the small dowels which was mismarked on the instructions. The bench itself looks nice but will not hold much. This is very misleading.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by USAgold Storage bench with seat, perfect for front entryway
I liked this so much, I got my brother one. It is perfect for the front entry way for putting on your shoes or boots. I picked up a scrape of rug at the dollar store and lined one cubicle for boots. The others work with the baskets for scarves, hats, mittens, etc My one complaint is the assembly instructions. Assembly took about an hour. There is one piece on the bottom front, which doesn't lock in very well. It should have dowels. Several pieces need to be put together simultaneously. It was the same for both units I bought and put together. Still love this little bench. Seat cushion is dense. Nice..

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Car88 Just what i was looking for =)
This little bench is exactly what I was looking for to put in our mudroom. It fits perfect and it's big enough to get most of the shoes up off the floor. Delivery was superfast, it was waiting for me after work only 2 days after I placed my order online. Also really easy to put together (or so my boyfriend tells me)..but I know it only took him about 30 mins. to finish it. Just right for the price, I don't expect it to last forever but I'm sure we will get quite a few good years out of it. I'm a little surprised how satisfied I am with it. =)

Item is used to hold toys in my daughters' room. Makes a nice (albeit small) seat for me while in their room. And grandma is grateful she doesn't have to sit in the floor anymore when playing with the girls.
