Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks nice at a glance, but... Very poor quality overall. The shelf is made out of really cheap particle board. The kind that turns to dust if it gets banged up. The backing to the three compartments (shown in the picture) is a heavyweight cardboard material that arrives folded in half. So, yes, you have a crease right down the middle of each shelf backing. I'm sure you wouldn't notice it unless you looked for more than 5 seconds, but really? On top of that, the bookshelf that I ordered arrived dinged up in several places and the pre-drilled holes had really jagged edges. Some of the holes weren't even drilled all the way through. Next time, I'll go someplace else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for kid storage! I bought this to go horizontally in my toddler's closet. It was easy to put together ( I am 8 months pregnant and put it together myself), directions were easy enough, all parts were there. No chips in the piece. Although you do have to be careful, I did chip a part of it when I was hammering but not big enough to tell. The only downfall is that the screws that hold the piece together have these white covers that you can put over it so you aren't looking at screws..... don't cover the screw all the way. So it sticks up. I tried hammering it and it just won't lay flat. But for me it was not that big of a deal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok... Assembles easy and all hardware was supplied in both boxes (I purchased 2) .. As far as sturdiness... YES, it is sturdy~ for particle board. I don't think the finish will hold up to heavy use; especially with young children banging them with toys, etc. But for the price, it was worth a shot. I do know that even though they are a laminate surface, they can be roughened up and painted later on. However, I do 100% agree with other reviews on the exposed screw heads. The so called "screw covers" are worthless and are VERY noticeable, and in my opinion, make the product look cheap. I will simply dab the screw heads with some white paint... Great for a kids room, closet, or home office. Overall, I would buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfactory product We assembled two of the 2x3 cherry colored units and they seem to be fine for our purpose. We did make some changes in the construction after reading the previous reviews. The most significant change was using different screws than those supplied with the unit. We used Grip Rite Course Thread Drywall Screws size 1 5/8" x 8. These screws are very similar to the ones provided but have a thinner and larger diameter head. Eighteen screws are needed per cabinet. Another change was to drill counter sink holes for the screws so that the surface of the screw head was just above the surface of the boards before tightening. A third change which might not be necessary was to put a small line of Tightbond wood glue along the edges of the shelves before putting on the sides of the cabinet. Our construction method was to build the whole center section of top, bottom, and the two shelves before putting on the sides. We built the center section as if the cabinet were lying on it's back and then carefully tipped it to be sitting on one side. It is then easy to put some glue on the upper board edges and install one side. After that, flip the cabinet over and repeat for the other side. The screw covers worked fine with the drywall screws and project only a small amount from the sides of the cabinet. They look similar to the wooden plugs that are used to hide screw heads in some furniture. Adding the counter sink holes took a little more work but one person was still able to assemble the second cabinet in about 30 minutes. The pictures show the completed cabinet and the screw covers.
