My curtains are 100 inches wide and not enough white plastic sliders to support it. Could not find any in store. How do I get them?

The Traverse Curtain Rod Carriers (6-Pack) Internet # 203714025 mentioned in THDSupport's answer are not the same as the carriers that come on the rod. I think it would be possible. You can purchase mending plates to join pieces of wood, and there's room on the back of this rod (which is a half-round piece of wood) for a narrow mending plate, I believe. I think you would not want the junction of the metal hardware to meet at the same place where the wooden rods meet, because that would be a weak area. However, you could cut one of the metal tracks and Read More

Do these work with a draw string (for left/right/center pull) or is it hand operated with a baton?

Answer:
It is hand operated. There's no draw cord. A baton was not included with mine, but they can be purchased.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The right scale for a sliding patio door, and it's paintable, too. I looked for a long time for a decorative drapery rod for my 6-foot sliding door. I purchased an 8-foot wooden pole with a 1-and-3/8 inch diameter, but when I mounted it, it just looked too small in scale for the large span, and it sagged in the middle even before I hung the drape. (When the open drape stacks on only one side, there can be no middle support bracket with that type of rod.) The answer seemed to be a larger-diameter rod, or a decorative traverse rod such as this one. There was a limited range of choices available in a moderate price range. There are some very nice looking 2 inch rods available online, but some of them are quite expensive. This traverse rod was the answer for me. With the large finials, available for purchase separately, it had the right scale. The finish was quite nice looking, but it didn't go with my decor. However, I temporarily removed the metal parts, painted it, and applied an antiquing glaze, and now I've got a drapery rod that's just right for my room, at a cost significantly below one hundred dollars. With paint and glazes, the sky's the limit on your creativity! There's no draw cord. Mine had no pull wand in the box, but they are widely available, although I don't feel that I need one. The rod comes with the magnetized double carriers set up to part in the middle, but the carriers can easily be moved to the ends of the rod so that your drape can stack to one side. July 3, 2015
