Customer Questions & Answers

I have the needed 1 3/8" poles BUT

I want a pair of rounded end caps that are mounted inside the window on the vertical surface of the woodwork. These 2 receptacles are mounted on either side of said woodwork and nailed/screwed thereon through the flat rounded center of the bracket/flange or whatever they are called. Then one end of the rod is inserted in one of these brackets following which the other end is slid into place through a notched space in the opposite bracket. Can't find them anywhere. Please help me. The rods are white wood. My local Home Depot has little to answer my needs (including salespeople) in this department.

You should be able to find these in the closet department of Home Depot. What you are looking for is called a Closet Pole Socket.

Can the pole be cut down and still accept the coordinating finials?

The space it needs to cover is about 7ft. Is there anything special on the ends that would be difficult to recreate in order to attach the matching finials?
Asked by: smca
Yes. You will need to drill or poke a new pilot hole on the cut end

I want to use two rods screwed together for a total length of just over 13 ft. (I know I will need to cut some off). Is three brackets enough to support this width?
Asked by: CurtainQuestion
Yes. I have 8 ft length supported with 2 so, I feel 3 would be good for 13ft

Wood poles are preferred since they have no extension breaks, can be cut to size, are sturdy and allow the finials to be screwed in so they don't fall out. These are perfect any decor. I use with rings and pinch pleat drapes with pin hooks for an elegant look. Drapes open effortlessly by pulling them aside.

As I slid back the plastic sheen that encased my Martha Stewart Living 8' pole my heart began to flutter. Never before has white painted soft wood inspired so much creativity. This glorious bit of manufactured lumber would be used to hang two curtains on two different windows. With the confidence of a bull I measured out the 48 inches I required to support just one of the curtains, and if by magic, by the time I was done with my saw I had both the required halves!!! How proudly they now hang in my rental house! What splendor they add to my kitchen interior!! In days gone by I had simply used thumb tacks to hold a bedsheet in front my window, but now real curtains drape lavishly, suspended from the martha stewart living 8 foot reeded wood pole in white, providing me with the privacy I desire, all the while adding a touch of class to my castle.
