I'm confused…some customers say the rocker was easy to assemble. Others
complained that they needed to drill holes, stripped the screws, hired a
handyman, etc.

What do you think? These comments matter to me.

Thank you….Carole

Answer:
Very easy to assemble, place rails on legs large side towards rear of chair. Screw in 4 screws and your done. I suggest using deck screws instead of the cheap screws that come with chair

Answer:
The runners have predrilled holes in them. You have to place the runner on the legs of the chair and then drill pilot holes thru the pre-drilled holes in the runner into the leg of the chair then insert the screws. The key is properly positioning the chair when you do the above so that it is stable and will not move when you are drilling.

I just got my chair. I have absolutely NO "construction skills"....yet my granddaughter and I put the rocker rungs on and used a drill to put the screws in. It took us about 20 minutes! (Most of that was spent discussing which of us would operate the drill.) I think it would be harder to hand screw the legs on... Overall, I'm feeling very proud of myself!!!

Hi Carole,
Customer reviews are often influenced by the customers own skills. Many experienced DIYers find the task easy. Those with less assembly experience or with fewer tools on hand may have more trouble.

Did anyone have trouble attaching the runners to the chair?

Should be simple assembly. Instructions say you only need a screwdriver. NOT CORRECT. The screws were very difficult to get through the wooden leg. I don't have a drill. After eventually getting the runners attached, the chair is uneven and does not rock correctly. I was so excited to get these, but I am now beyond disappointed. Any suggestions Home Depot?

Answer:
I had the same issue, cheap screws that the head strips and they will bend. Removed the screws and replaced with good quality deck screws that the head fits in the hole drilled on the bottom of rails.
Once replaced the chair rocks great and is very solid.

250 to 300 lbs people have used this chair with no problem. It is more important to have chair on solid surface so weight is even on runners

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 88 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Why use cheap soft screws on a good solid chair> Had to replace screws also. the weak link on this otherwise nice chair is the packet of two cheap screws. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love these chairs These are one of the nicest rocking chairs I have every purchased. They seem pretty durable. Was not crazy about the cushion color, but covered it with something different. I did find on one of them the rocker parts as I attached it did not line up 100%, but also noticed that in-between was pushed in a little so kind of pulled it out and the issue was solved. I actually purchased two of them and my brother and I have been enjoying rocking on the deck!!!!!! July 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rocking chair Love the chair, perfect size, excellent quality I have other pieces that have held up great over the years. Cushions match color of other pieces I bought a few years back. Would highly recommend especially at sale price June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great rocking chair very easy to put together, but you should use your own high quality screws (4) The screws that come with chair are very cheap and strip easily. Chair is very comfortable and very well built July 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great chair This is a great outdoor wicker rocker. It was easy to assemble and so comfortable. My only complaint is the color of the cushion. It is orange and not red as advertise. July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BYO screws This would get 5 stars had the screws not bent and the heads not hollowed out. I had to remove 2 with vise grip pliers. I used my own stainless screws, 2" long to replace all screws that wouldn't go all the way in. 4 chairs, probably 4-5 really bad screws out of 16 total. Maybe I had too strong of a powered screwdriver. But that was my only complaint. They look fantastic. Cushions are rust colored. Sits a tad deep, but a pretty lumbar pillow will solve that. I also got two side tables after seeing how high quality the chairs are. I'm sitting in one now writing this review. Aren't I a lucky girl? May 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking rocking chairs The rockers looked nice till you sat in them and that's when you realize there is no back support. The weaved back was not stretched taut enough on one of the chairs and looked like excess material flopping around there. Bottom line is we had to buy back support cushions. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love these chairs These are deep seated chairs that are better suited for taller people. However, with a soft throw cushion behind the back this is comfortable for my 5'3 frame. The best thing about these chairs is you don't feel like your going to tumble back when rocking like other chairs seem to make you feel. The chairs are sturdy and the weight limit is 300 lbs. I have family members over 300lbs that visit and these chairs do the job. Assembly is a little tricky attaching the slats to the chair. My husband used a power tool carefully. I couldn't imagine trying to use a regular screwdriver to attach these as the slats on one didn't quite line up. Otherwise, love the chairs. May 7, 2016
