Vermillion Rug just arrived on 3/8, ordered on 3/1. Shipped from Safavieh Distributors in NY to CA by Fedex Ground. Rug actually measures 9' x 11' 10" and is heavy. Wool is soft and thick. Color is very deep and rich--more wine/burgundy than the rust color displayed on my screen. Pattern is created by the texture, not by different colored yarns. This is a solid colored rug. The lighter appearance are the looped yarns, darker appearance are the cut yarns. Beautiful rug.

I loved this rug when it first arrived (even though it looked NOTHING like the image online, the colors don't contrast as they do online and it's maroon in color), but after several months of owning it it's gone downhill.
It pulls easily--I'm having to cut loose threads constantly. It also sheds like nothing I've ever seen. It fills up my Dyson upright with just one vacuum over the rug.
Take it from someone who's owned this rug for a few months vs. someone who just opened up the box and wrote a review, save your money. This has discouraged me from looking at any other Martha Stewart rugs.

The color is a deep red (not rust at all). Nice red!
The design is gorgeous and unique!
The only thing is, it sheds all over my 7 mo. old baby.
I'm sure if I vaccume regularly and wait a few months, the shedding would get better, but I don't want to wait. My baby needs something that she can feel comfortable on. It's not soft and squishy either.
Might be nice in a room where people aren't laying down on the floor. It is a beautiful rug!
* I can return it to my local Home Depot instead of shipping back!! FABULOUS!
Which is why I took the risk and ordered online in the first place.

I am sending this rug back solely based on the color. I was looking for a bright, rust-colored rug. Prior to ordering, I googled the color "vermillion" which is described as a bright, red-orange. This rug is maroon. Burgandy. Purple-red. The color gives the room a dated look. Too bad! It really is a nice rug for a great price. Perhaps an FSU Seminole or USC Gamecocks fan would like it?

This rug doesn't have the same contrasting colors as it does in this picture. The whole runner is sorta one solid color with the flowers distinguishable as a pattern in the varying length of rug fibers.
It sheds like crazy. I had to buy a hand-held vacuum to go over it practically everyday. My apartment is small, so I am finding rug fibers everywhere!
The color (burnt blood orange), though not true to this picture, is very nice. It gives my apartment a little bit of feminine detail without being over the top floral.
For the price it is right, but if you have the money definitely go with something that is a higher quality.
