Customer Questions & Answers

Does this chair fully recline to a flay position? I am looking for something I can sun bathe on.

Asked by: MelN
Thank you for your interest in the Grand Bank collection. Though this chair does not recline to a completely flat position, it does recline to a close as possible flat position as it can be adjusted down and up as seen fit.

Grand Bank Patio Reclining Lounge Chair is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I wanted a chaise lounge for the comfort, but they take up space and tend to stick out when grouped with other chairs. So I thought this would be perfect, and figured it would be worth the high price, and bought two. The quality is pretty good, but the design of the pullout ottoman is really bad. It only marginally lifts your feet and is uncomfortable and straining on the back this way. The bar that connects to the ottoman sticks into your backside as well. Cushions help a little with that, making it an ok but overpriced and a little strange looking regular chair, but forget about the ottoman. I should have gone with a reclining chair with separate ottoman.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from RUSTS IMMEDIATELY, HARD TO ASSEMBLE RUSTING IN THE JOINTS WHERE THIS FURNITURE IS SOLDERED IS MAJOR PROBLEM OF THIS WHOLE SET. I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE RECLINERS PLUS MATCHING GLIDER AND END TABLE. THE END TABLE RUSTED SO BAD RIGHT AWAY I HAD TO THROW IT OUT. THE GLIDER JOINTS ARE RUSTING, JUST AS THESE LOUNGE CHAIRS ARE, AND LEAVING RUST STAINS ALL OVER MY PAVERS. THEY ARE ALL HARD TO ASSEMBLE; I HAD TO HIRE SOMEONE TO DO IT. THESE LOUNGE CHAIRS ARE A GOOD CONCEPT FOR SMALLER SPACES, BUT ARE NOT AS COMFORTABLE AS THOUGHT TO BE. FOR THE PRICE I EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY. I HAD A PATIO SET WITH POWDER COATING FOR 32 YEARS, WITHOUT A HINT OF RUST. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY LUCK WITH MARTHA STEWART PRODUCTS AT ALL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over-priced and Uncomfortable Pros: It looks nice and matches the rest of our patio furniture (not from the same collection). The stowing ottoman was the main reason we bought this, so it doesn't take up much space. Cons: 3 different areas of the product were misaligned or broken, which made assembly difficult. I still was able to put it together and it was functional - so I didn't return it. The ottoman is too low when pulled out. Your feet only feel "propped up" when in the full recline position. You can feel the ottoman sliding in and out under your butt becase the fabric sags down when you sit on the chair. The arm rests are useless when you recline, and actually feel in the way There is a metal bar in the front of the seat you can feel when sitting on it - again because of the sag of the fabric. Overall: the store where we bought this had the display model on a shelf, so we were not able to sit in it prior to buying it. Lesson learned: always try out any chair you plan to buy to make sure it's comfortable - no matter what it looks like or how functional it may seem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spend your money elsewhere. A little over a year of owning these we noticed that they were starting to rust. They stained our pavers and became so rusted that the back frame rusted through. Horrible horrible product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly uncomfortable I bought this chair for my mom as a birthday gift, and gave it to her fully assembled. After trying it out for a few minutes, she regretfully informed me how uncomfortable it is! The leg rest doesn't lift up high enough and the metal bars stick into your body. The armrests are uncomfortable as well. I will be returning this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is ok I thought the chair was a little expensive for the size. I give it 3 stars because a) cost, b) disappointed with the comfort level, c) hard to put together. As one reviewer stated the pull out ottoman really did not extend the legs out as expected. I thought the chair could have been made more up off the ground, similar to the $25 dollar chairs you could buy. Disappointed but I could not get the chairs I wanted due to the small area I have to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend Wasn't thrilled that I had to assemble them. More extensive than I had expected and one slightly more difficult. Could of used an extra hand. But the chairs are well made and very comfortable, not to mention beautiful. They have back support (metal), which makes them more comfortable. Like the fact that the backs go down on the seat, and I can cover them during bad weather. Looking forward to years of enjoying them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chair/chaise lounge I wanted a patio chairs to sit on for having conversations around a fire pit, but I also wanted chaise lounges for sunning sunning during the day. These chairs perfectly fit the bill! They were not too difficult to assemble, but a little tricky if you didn't attach the bolts in a certain order. It seemed that one of the pre-drilled holes was just a little out of line. Other than that, these are great chairs.
