Customer Reviews

Ingrid 54.5 in. W Almond 2-Drawer Lateral File Console is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from attractive lateral file This lateral file matches a MS desk I bought at the same time--too bad the file is being discontinued. As noted in other reviews, it is heavy but very easy to set up. I managed to get it to my workplace with a large dolly, and to turn it upright by myself after attaching the legs. The storage space is smaller than one would expect; it holds less than two regular file drawers of regular sized files. But the upper drawers are useful. It is feminine but not fussy--lots of compliments on this particular piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! I was looking for a white file cabinet to match my what bedroom set and this is perfect. Even though it's off white it blends in well and its stylish so it doesn't look like a file cabinet but an antique piece of furniture. It is beautiful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Piece I looked everywhere for exactly the right piece to go into a home office that I was redecorating. It's a relatively small room, and I had installed a full wall of shelving and cabinetry. That gave me lots of storage, but no filing space for personal papers. This piece of furniture was exactly right, and much more beautiful in person than pictures convey. Truly gorgeous, sturdy, and a good value. I love the small drawers for odds and ends, since you don't always find that in filing cabinets. That said, the filing space is a bit odd. You can put the metal supports into guides that allow for either legal or letter sized papers, but in both cases there is a lot of extra drawer space to one side. Typically, the file drawer is legal width, and you only have extra space on the side if you prefer letter sized storage. Sometimes drawers are designed that way because you can also place the files going the other direction (vertical to the front of the drawer vs. horizontal to the front of the drawer), but that's not an option in this case. I don't mind having a bit more space in the drawer, I just find it an odd design element. All that said, I am extremely happy with the purchase. You could easily find a piece like this in a high-end furniture store.
